Not enough calories?

I'm starting to wonder if I'm not getting enough calories and that's part of the reason my weight loss has slowed. On average I get less than 800 a day. Whats everyone else getting?

It absolutely makes a difference for me. It is so hard to get in more than 800 (on a good day!) but I have noticed that on those rare days when I get in closer to 1,000 I do have better losses. Must ALSO get in at least 64 ounces of liquid.

I don't know HOW I'm supposed to get closer to 1.000 when I can't even get up to 800! ugh.

I know how you feel. Only days I get to 1,000 is when I eat chips or pretzels, etc or the like. And I don't want to go back to that. Anyone have any suggestions for upping calories without junk food?

I go on YouTube and there's a girl on there who says she doesn't count her calories

She makes sure she gets in Protein first and follows the bariatric diet recommendations

She lost 180 something her name is grehlin b gone

I don't count my calories. My doc said if you are eating lean and clean calories will not matter. Always eat protein first. Protein has 4 calories per 1 gram.

My doctor doesn't want me to count them cause if I don't have enough she doesn't want me to eat junk food to hit the calorie intake. I have counted cause I was curious and I'm lucky if I hit 600 calories a day. As long as I get my Protein in and the liquids then I'm happy.

i'm a newbie but

i asked my nut about counting calories...I figured I'd get in the habit and she said do Protein, then veggies, then fruit, then carbs(as if you could at that point) with pying attention to portions and forget the calories. She said the lifestyle change should focus on protein and portions...its

's like her mantra!

i eat my three meals a day usually 2 protein bars during the day at work in between meals have a protein shake in the morning first thing..I definatley started to see the weight drop off faster when i started eating a little more i don't really count the calories but i thinking between 900-1200 a day during the week when im working and always busy weekends less not as busy so need less fuel i am 9 mos out and have lost 150 lbs total now i need to maintain where im at i don't want to lose anymore weight

Don what kind of protein bars do you eat?

I don't count calories either. Focus on protein and water. Everything I eat is also low fat, low carbs.

Most days I am just shy of 800 cals. I always make my water & protein goals. I'm supposed to be aiming for 1000 cals/day, but my healing has been slow & at 11 weeks my pouch remains a bit swollen. I'm satisfied, though, and not hungry. Weight loss now only 2-3 pounds/week but I'm doing cardio daily & weights every other day & have muscles I've not had since my 20s so I'm OK with slow. 11 weeks=52 pounds; down 3 sizes in clothes & 1 size in shoes.
