Hi all. Just checking in. Surgery 5/28, down 55 pounds. I am in a stall right now for a week. scale hasn't oven even an ounce. I little discouraging. It is weird how one day you can eat semi normally, and then the next day basically nothing. Yesterday I had a small piece of cheese, maybe an ounce, and 3 tiny bites of a hamburger and that is all I could do...all day! I know the stall is because I am not eating enough, but I eat as much as I can...which is still a few bites per meal. Is anyone else having a hard time eating enough. Any tricks to get more calories/protein in? Besides shakes or Protein Bars?

Don't be discouraged. I went through the same thing. When it's really hot outside I usually don't like to eat. I would try drinking maybe 2 Protein Shakes a day to replace a meal. This might get you out of the stall. Your pouch might handle liquid better right now than actual food. Give it a shot & see what happens. Try going for a small walk. You body is trying to protest because it wants it's old life back. The scale will start to move again :)

Thanks. I am walking 2 miles every day, and taking all my Vitamins. I will try the shakes again.

I cleaned out all of my big clothes today. Sister, mom and nieces walked away with 8 garbage bags full of clothes and shoes! Never will wear those sizes again!

Bought my first pair of skinny jeans today. Size 16 with enough room to go. Oh happy day ... Oh happy day. Lalalala

I was at the mall yesterday with my kids and they were all hungry. Had to stop at the food court to grab a quick bite. I found a Chinese place and ordered some Bourbon chicken ( one of the only things not breaded). Ate a few bites and got a to go box. Within 15 minutes felt sick and started throwing up white foamy stuff. I have done this a few times before with food and drinks that don't agree with me. What is the cause of that?

Maybe it could be how the chicken was cooked....grease that was high in fat. But man I would love some of Chinese food...the next time you get Chinese food you can ask them to fix it for you a certain way and most places will. Like if you want to add or take away something.

For me personally the only time I've gotten foamie with RNY is when I took a bite that wasn't chewed well enough and it was sort of 'stuck'.

HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 204.2

Thanks. I guess I was in kind of a hurry and dealing with 3 small children....I may have just eaten too fast and made a bad decision on food! Hopefully it doesn't happen again soon. That wasn't any fun..

My uncle calls it the foamies and it is because the food didn't agree with you. They probably cooked it in grease.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
