Oh I don't know if I'd like that. As much of a technology person as I am' date=' I would not trust it. I would be protesting the robot. Humans are all different inside and as great as robotics are these days, they are still robots.[/quote']

I had the robot surgery as well. It was awesome! I didn't notice any swelling.

I got a question' date=' I apologize in advance, you know how you are gassy when you come home? Did any of you pass red stuff along with the gas at times? It looks like blood though.[/quote']

Did you call the doctor? I am hoping all is okay

I second calling the doctor. Especially with the heparin shots and stuff in the hospital. They told me call immediately if I have any blood in my stool, urine or vomit.

Can't believe surgery is in SEVEN days. I'm so excited! I've been reading everyone's post op experiences and I feel prepared but I'm sure once I'm in y'all's shoes ill get all out of whack again. But I have y'all and a great support team so I'm ready for this. SEVEN MORE DAYS!!

I had my final pre op appointment with my surgeon yesterday. It was pretty standard. We went over all of my test results again and I signed all of my consents. I also had blood drawn for my type and screen. I've lost 15 lbs in the past 3 weeks on my pre op diet. He asked me was I doing ok with it and if I could make it another week. He said that he would prefer to modify it if necessary rather than have me cheat. I told him that I can do the last week with no problem. He laughed and said that after he offers to modify it, most patients admit that they have been struggling. I did find out that because I'm a revision I have to stay 3 nights. He told me that revision patients have a greater chance of developing a leak so he always keeps them an extra night for observation.

June 21st can't get here fast enough.

Robotics are actually awesome... I was skeptical before I started working in robotics but they can see much clearer...in 3d in fact.... they are not any more risky than laproscopic surgery

I definitely just sipped one or two sips too much of my Soup. I feel like there's a knot in my throat. I hope walking around and a hot shower gets this moving. I've had a really good day and do not want to ruin it by something coming back up.

I just left the hospital. I feel pretty good. A lot of gas still in me. My Dr said everything went great. He sent me a prescription for prilosec he told me I have to take this faithfully. Is this true anyone out there told the same?

Yes. I was told the same thing. You don't want to get an ulcer in your new pouch.

My surgeon said the same. For at least 3 months. Reduces acid in your stomach and decreases risk for ulcer in the beginning!

Well some of the Soup came back. But at least not all of it. Guess I'm still learning the limits of my pouch. I'm instantly not sick anymore tho!

This makes me wonder because my surgeon never prescribed a liquid antacid for me. I crushed the ones I have but its so nasty that I don't want to take it. But I've had a few issues with a burning feeling in my tummy. I went ahead and put in a call to the doctors office about it.

I was prescribed Nexium upon discharge with 6 refills. It's small enough I can take it with some Water no problem. I had GERD to begin with and was on Prilosec pre op but he switched me just because the pill is a little smaller.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
