So after much ado, I have started a new job and received my new insurance cards!!! 100% coverage for this! I am ecstatic. I have waited over two years for this! I am ready!

I have my initial surgeon appointment on May 9th so I expect that things will fall into place after that. I have already done a 6 month supervised diet-optifast-yuck! So hopefully that won't hold anything up! Super super ready to get this show on the road.

I finally broke down and bought some summer clothes realizing I probably shouldn't try to squeeze into last years. So again, a size 22 wide went into my cart. Uggh. I felt awful but then realized that it will be the last summer I will EVER EVER shop at Lane Bryant!

Please keep me in your thoughts and if anyone in Michigan is starting the process I would love to hear from you!

~Mary

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I'm just starting out. I had my first appointment with the surgeon and was told I had to be on a 6 month supervised diet as well, ugh! But I'm willing to do anything to get the surgery so I'll do it:-) I had a friend going through this with me but she found out that her BMI wasn't quite high enough so now I'm a lone ranger in this new adventure but with the help of this forum I sure don't feel alone and that's all that matters!

Try writing all your questions down so you don't forget them. I wish I had by the time I saw the surgeon I forgot most of them lol. I agree we'll all be looking great and yes I think sticking by and supporting one another is a wonderful idea.

I've been thinking and researching GB surgery for about 3 yrs... I never had the guts to actually do it.

Without any support from my parents ( they worry about me) I decided to Do It! My first seminar is May 6.

I have seen the good and the bad in different people I know.

It's def a chance I am willing to take! Please pray for me on my journey... Thanks y'all

So glad I found this app!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
