Wow, my doctor required a 3 night stay. I am glad because I was in alot of pain after mine. I needed that morphine pump. Glad you are doing so well. Good luck and welcome to the losers bench.

My doctor has said that 95% of his patients go home the next day... I just get so amazed with the big differences I see on here between doctors!

I wil admit that I'm nervous about having such major surgery and going home very next day!

Just saying hello and was wondering how you were feeling!

I'm good. I've reduced my pain meds to night time only, I'm still having trouble getting my fluids and Protein in, but I have a new plan that I'm trying today! I'm still a little sore in one incision. but I have hope that it will get with the program soon. I haven't had any nausea, which is a godsend. I've been walking twice a day.

According to my surgeon I'm having the "dream recovery".

Sparklette how many days post op are you? I'm on day 6 and still a lot of pain on my abdomen in two spots when I walk or stand. I called the doc today And they said its from cut muscles and will take time. I just thought at 6 days out the pain would be all gone. :(

We had the same surgery date I think. I'm 6 days out also. I have pain at one incision, and It's not so much pain as tightness now. Just keep taking your meds, Walk, even when uncomfortable, and I actually put an ice pack wrapped in a towel on the incision and it helped a little, Then I put a heating pad, and it really helped loosen up the muscles.

Start slowly starting to stretch reach your arms over you head, Try to contract your abdominal muscles when you're laying down.

Im so ready to eat fod again, but of caourse scared as to what will happen. Who's been cheating? and what have you eaten?

I was craving tuna yesterday, I don't like tuna! I'm terrified of cheating! But I can't wait till the 9th. My family made burgers this week and I was so tempted to just nibble a little bit of meat. But I didn't.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
