Well im THAT girl...

I was so devastated to learn when I woke up from surgery that they only removed my band and could not do the revision. :( my doctor said she's very conservative and even a little bad scan tissue would make her stop. I'm so sad... I have to wait a few more months now...

:( I'm so sorry. We have others I've read have to do that.

And might I add, I am so very glad that I wasn't a candidate for the band. I was considering it until I went in and he told me with my metabolic issues and all that I wasn't eligible. It seems like nothing but trouble. :(

Just heal up from this part of it and know that it is not too long til you get to have your surgery. I for one am glad you have a surgeon who is that careful. Hugs your way!!

I'm that girl too....better safe than sorry. I'm a family practice PA and during the six months between band removal and bypass I did a lot of research. It appears more and more docs are going to waiting between the band removal and bypass....complication rates seem to be lower. I you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm your girl. I felt so betrayed by my body at first....I was sad and cried then I got madder than hell. Keep on doing what you're doing. Your time will come. Honestly the first month or two took for ever but after that it flew. The one thing that really helped was that they gave me a surgery date at my 2 week post op follow up....I started counting days 6 months before I had my RNY....having the date, having an end in sight, really helped me!!!! You can do this :$

Thank you all SO much for the kind words. I have kind of accepted that my surgeon is one on of the best and it was her duty to watch out for my safety. Thankfully, she's going to do it in 6-8 weeks so I don't have tooooo long to wait. :) I'm also feeling really good, which is nice. Everything works out for the best and it will be ok. 6-8 more weeks of food! Hahahaha

Oh see now I don't like you any more :D 6-8 weeks is nothing!!! 6 months was long enough to gain 30 pounds, bleh! Glad you don't have to wait forever, it'll be here before ya know it!!!

Hahahaha yeah, 6-8 weeks is definitely not bad at all. The only thing I'm concerned about now is my surgeon told my fiancé that she may only be able to do the sleeve on me as opposed to rny because of "my anatomy". I'm hoping I can talk her in to rny. I reallllly don't want the sleeve cause I already failed with one purely restrictive procedure. If she says no, I may seek out a 2nd opinion. I feel like this is her just trying to push me in to the sleeve for her studies. She does all kinds of studies and I feel like she would want me to do the sleeve just to be one of her studies. I don't know... I'm sick of worrying about things and just want this all to be over with.
