Recommended Posts

Omg I'm so discouraged because I'm not losing weight. Last week I lost 2 pounds this week gained it back. Not cheating or eating crap either.

How many calories are you getting in? I seem to stop losing when I don't get enough.

I'm having the same issue and I'm only 4 weeks out. Gained all the weight I lost last week. On the other hand I'm noticing that I'm still losing inches. So I hope I'm gaining muscle and losing fat. I have decided to also look at my sodium intake to make sure I'm not retaining Water. I get 5-700 cals a day. And 75g of Protein on most days. I am getting in all my fluids too. It is so discouraging though specially so early on!

I think anytime you stay the same or gain slightly it is discouraging. My weight has been creeping down, I have even tried a few "Tricks" like more Protein, more Water, more calories, less salt, less carbs, more movement. I think the body retaliates by holding on. It needs time to adjust. I have to remember, "When was the last time you lost weight this fast?" (Emoticons added by my almost 6 year old.)

I have reached my first stall at 8 weeks out. Thank goodness I have been reading all the posts on this site! I am not freaking out. This too will pass!

I had surgery march 4th. I have lost 30 lbs but still do not want to eat. I hardly want to eat at all. I get nauseated even thinking of it. I would rather drink. Anyone else have this problem? I think I would lose more if I would eat

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
