So far so good all I have left is my cardiologist and pulmonologist appointments left then its a matter of waiting for GHI so hopefully my surgery should be somewhere in late october yeah just in time for the Holidays! My Bariatric surgeon did mention I might have to take stomach meds along with my plavix so I dont get an ulcer down the road i dont know how I feel about this yet. Thanks Missy hope all is well with you.

Hi and welcome! I had my RNY this past December 13. Talk about just in time for the holidays lol! Honestly, the best thing I have ever done. Um, well the hubby and kids were pretty amazing too,but I mean the best thing I've done for ME. :D No regrets, i had a very easy time, easy recovery, etc. I really commend you on your choice and wish you all the best!!

If you want something that will make you suffer rny is the way to go. If I take just 1 more bite of food I vomit. If I have high sugar of anything I have dumping. I love it! Not the dumping or vomiting but what happens to me cuz it keeps me focus & I rarely repeat my self. Once I know it didn't agree I try to stay away if no sugar free subtitude or I don't eat oily greasy food I would get so sick.

3 years ago i was slammed with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis which left me jobless ( i had 3 ) and no energy ro go grocery shopping.

I am 2 1/2 weeks postop and the energy i have is amazing. I spent 4 hours cleaning for graduation and I feel amazing.

If you knew how good i feel and if i only had to add an extra pill it is soooo worth it.

I feel sexy and skinnier and i loved to eat but trading my love of food for a healthy body and prolonging my knee replacement is worth it.

If you take blood pressure, diabetes or cholesterol meds you can kiss them good bye.

Your gift of health is the best gift they could get for christmas.

Just saying.

Missy

Hello.

Again just checking in on you and how the process is going. To see if you have started to collect any items for surgery.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
