So I have my first appointment on Friday and was wondering if time starts going faster after the first appointment? It's seemed like time has stood still getting to this point. I guess I'm so ready and excited to start my new life that I want it done now lol

I started my process Sept. 28, 2012. Time went by really fast up to this point. Playing the waiting game is the hardest part. Surgery scheduled May 2nd! :) Yours will be here before you know it. My suggestion.. Don't obsess. It makes time go slower. Lol I feel that is what slowed down the clock for me. The closer it got the more videos, research, shopping an talking I am doing about it just make it feel like these 2 weeks are years away. Good luck! :)

Wow! Your surgery is right around the corner! It's hard not to obsess about it lol. I try to only get on here once a week but lately it's been about every night. Thanks for all the advice and good luck with your surgery.

My first appointment with my Surgeon is on Friday as well, I'm going to sit down today and try to come with as many questions as possible for the Doc. the good, the bad and the ugly. For example hey Doc. what number of your patients have had complications? This frightens me the most! Good luck on your Journey.

I started the first week of January and had surgery this past Monday. It flew by for me!

Went to the seminar on 3/14 and have since seen surgeon, had EKG, and met with all the specialists the surgeon requires (NUT, fitness, mental health). I still have to do my pysch eval next week (nervous!) and then submit for insurance approval. My insurance has their own bariatric coordinator that I've had to speak with as well- I think all the various things that I've already had to handle the past month have maybe made it seem like more time has passed?

Idk, just feels like I've been waiting forever and I've only been in the process for a month. lol

Surgery date is looking like very end of May- maybe the 30th. I can't wait to actually know my date though- I think that once I know how much longer I have to wait I'll calm down some.

Feeling great today!

That's great to hear. Are you in a lot of pain or is it pretty mild? I realize that everyone handles pain differently but it's always great to hear other people's experiences.

In the hospital, I think I had more pain than I do now that I am home. I would just say I'm uncomfortable as of now. Definitely gassy and I have to sleep sitting up because my belly is pretty sore. Nothing I can't tolerate though

Well just got done with my first appointment and I'm kinda bummed that because of my insurance I have to be on a 6 month diet. I knew the surgeon required a 3 month diet but because of my insurance it's 6 months ugh! I'm a little bummed but I'll get through it. On the bright side I absolutely love my surgeon and his staff they are so nice

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
