He is a cocky son of a bitch!!! And I love him!!!! He is the best surgeon as far as I am concerned!!! I was 314 day of surgery - I lost 180 lbs- I've kept most off. Only problem - which is a biggie - is the psychological aspect - transferring of addiction. I'm in a 12 step program now because I had a few plastic surgeries to remove skin and wound up addicted to pain meds. Wat I found out was that I never addressed why I weighed 314 lbs to begin with. I was a food addict. I am now in school to become an addiction counselor specializing in gastric bypass. GBS is a great tool - just make sure you get the right support on why you were stuffing your feelings or filling a void - I am here to talk anytime. ????

LOL. I can see that in him a little. I like him too. I I don't feel the other members of the team prepared me to go home and eat and be successful. That part of the program needs a lot of work. He's at Chesapeake Regional now. My weight loss is slow right now but I know it's bc I'm not getting the Protein in. I am working on it now though and getting better. Congratulations on seeking help and using ur experience to help others. That takes a pretty strong person! :-)

And thanks for offering to talk if I need to. I'm sure I will. I had a couple rough Patches weeks ago but now that I have a better variety of food I can eat I'm doing MUCH better. I just need to really start working out. I haven't done that yet like I should. Just in spurts.

HI!! And welcome!! How r things going for u? I had mine on June 5th so we are basically surgery buddies!!! Right now I am still struggling to get in enough food. I'm not really tracking calories and all right now but I know I'm low. Part of that was bc I couldn't take any Protein shakes. That's getting better recently so my calories should pick up too. I'm also in an internal battle to get my lazy butt to the gym. I'm getting dressed right now and about to eat so I can make it in. Wish me luck! :-)

No I did not go thru Chesapeake regional. My doctor was based in Chesapeake but my surgery was in Portsmouth hospital. So far I'm doing wonderful. I'm feeling good and looking great!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
