I tryed tuna fish and cottage cheese and it felt like I dropped a brick in my tummy

I got sick of cottage cheese so fast, can't touch it now. I know the feeling about the brick in the tummy. It will take abit to figure out what ur pouch likes. Ive also discovered that what my pouch likes today, might not like tomorrow. Are u able to eat soda crackers at all? I find those sit well

Oh good i mean it is getting smaller but i also feel like it has something to do with my pain cuz its the exact spot

Yes! I thought the very same thing! I still have pain in that spot if I bend the wrong way or sit for too long. I asked the Doctor if he was sure he connected everything right. He said that it was normal. We will see!

I can do cottage cheese fine, but tuna sat there forever. Gonna wait before I do that again. Gonna try egg salad tomorrow. Used to be one of my favs, so we will see....

One thing that is on track for me. I used Miralax, and it worked like a charm.

I'm still on pureed but I'm not complaining lol I'm struggling with the Protein Shakes tho :( I think I need something different. But at least with two shakes a day I'm taking in 50g of Protein lol plus I'm never hungry so that helps a lot.

I just started the banana cream Muscle Milk shakes. They are yummy, no chalky taste at all. Just tastes like pie. Lol!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
