"never have to diet again"

You better clarify that one. LOL. There are physical, emotional, genetic, etc. factors that all play a role in obesity and, like any disease, lifelong changes have to be implemented and adhered to. I suppose it's correct to say that if you follow the banded rules, dieting will become a natural way of life.

Am I correct in guessing that you have never had a weight problem? Thanks again for your help with questions and answers.

Johnnymobs,

Any chance that cincy wt loss will have a Dayton area support group? The one at 6 on Mondays doesn't give me enough time to get there after taxi driving my kids to their after school stuff. Or even adding another group at a later time. I was banded with Dr Osborn . I'm losing, just veerryy slowly.

we gotta get losing better, We are doing a support group in Greenville (which may be too far north for you). Our Dayton seminars are quite full so we should consider starting one int he Dayton area, as there does appear to be a need, let's keep pushing and see if we can't make this happen.

miss banster, i don't know where johnnymobs is, but the myoplex Protein Drinks have 42 gm of Protein and few carbs. Krogers has them in the health food section and they are single serve cartons (sold in 4 packs). I think the vanilla is pretty good and it doesn't have that chemical taste that some do. The GNC store has them also. My dh likes the strawberry.

good luck!

Is that so? Why is it that 4 years out I am struggling to just maintain my initial weightloss? With an esophagus that no longer responds to the band. I definitely have to diet.

Leatha hve you had a BA swallow to confirm your band position and pouch sizee, that band should be working for you and not you for the band. Your esophagus is not the responder hormones released from your stomach should produces fullness and satisfaction for hours.

TexasP, do you mean to write 10cc or 10cm? BIG difference. The 10cm band is (according to Allergan) the most popular size being used. It holds 4cc's.

JohnnyMobs,

Any Monday evening (preferably 7:00 or after)would be fine with me. I think that an easily accessable meeting room could be obtained at one of the hotels around the Fairfield Mall in Beavercreek just off I675. There are also Hotels just across the bridge in Fairborn near Wright State U (such as Holiday Inn). Just south of the mall, on Kemp road, is a medical building run by Green Memorial Hospital. If those don't suit, the Southview Hospitals medical center may have a room and that is near the Dayton Mall and I675 in Centerville. There are probably Hotels with meeting rooms in that area as well, I just don't know what they are called. That area is also near I75 so it would probably be easier for you folks to get there. I hope something can be worked out.

Letha

could you have a slip and need your band surgically readjusted. I have never heard of this problem, there are people with their band for 9 plus years and it is still functioning fine.

Annie what about at the Mandalay center where our seminars are. We are thinking 6;30 as the seminars are at 7 and our banded nurse is going to be there for the end of the seminar. This would be a Monday. Hoping to start this quite soon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
