Annie what about at the Mandalay center where our seminars are. We are thinking 6;30 as the seminars are at 7 and our banded nurse is going to be there for the end of the seminar. This would be a Monday. Hoping to start this quite soon.

Letha could you have a slip and need your band surgically readjusted. I have never heard of this problem, there are people with their band for 9 plus years and it is still functioning fine.

Leatha hve you had a Ba swallow to confirm your band position and pouch sizee, that band should be working for you and not you for the band. Your esophagus is not the responder hormones released from your stomach should produces fullness and satisfaction for hours.

MissBannster I like protein bars...you can eat part of one and they travel easy. Also, whatever your protein from dinner the nite bwefore may work as well. I do not like the idea of protein shakes, I tink liquid calories can lead to trouble

anybody out there?
Inamed is the only band used in the US, I think you will have a hard time finding a US surgeon to help you take care of another type of band as no one in this country as any experience with the Swedish band...yet

Is this normal???
probably that is normal, there is just some swelling at the site where your band was placed. You should see this subside as your edema resolves. Keep us posted and good luck!

Band Slippage
I agree, and I think (as a surgeonwith a band and who puts bands in) that the percentage of people who slip with an appropriately adjusted band and who do not vomit is incredibly rare, and even more rare are stitches "coming undone" years after being placed. I do strongly agree with the results are worth the risk!
-
Band Slippage
a slip will only occur from repeated vomiting for weeks or months, all bands are stitched into position. Horribly unlikely you have a slip this close to your surgery date. We all have cheated (some), don't sweat it. I bet your band is just fine.

we gotta get losing better, We are doing a support group in Greenville (which may be too far north for you). Our Dayton seminars are quite full so we should consider starting one in the Dayton area, as there does appear to be a need, let's keep pushing and see if we can't make this happen.
