Is this normal???

I was banded a week ago on 2/14. Whenever I drink anything, (I am still on liquids) I feel like I need to burp, but can't. When my body tries to burp it is painful. Is this normal?

    probably that is normal, there is just some swelling at the site where your band was placed. You should see this subside as your edema resolves. Keep us posted and good luck!

    My surgery was Nov. 14, and yes, it is normal. Whenever restriction kicks in for me, I start burping very small amounts. The belching actually helps relieve the pressure of being restricted.
