How soon after surgery did you begin exercising. I'm two weeks post op and finally feeling some relief from pain.

I'm one week post op, haven't really had much pain other than minor aching/cramping. I have my first appointment tomorrow and that's one of the questions I was going to ask. I've been walking around the neighborhood twice a day or so, but I'm anxious to get to the gym and start really going at it.

I was told that besides walking, I could start back to normal exercise at week three. I was told that I could go swimming at that point also.

I'm 8 days postoperative.. I was instructed to walk 30 minutes a day for the next for weeks only. Can only lift up to 15 lbs so I'm using 3lb hand weight to do some light arm exercises... Best of luck!

I started 10 days after surgery with the gym. but I walked multiple times everyday for at least 15 minutes each since the day after my surgery.

my doctor told me not to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk until my first follow up. now I started but lifting weights a start up with 5 then 10 then 15.

Yes the doctor told me up to 15 lbs ... But no actual "weight lifting" that's why the 3 lb weights and just walking.. I'm inclining the treadmill to level 6 at a 2 speed for 30 minutes

I just started back to the gym today. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill with interval incline shifts. I am about 2.5 weeks post op. I had some unusual pain just left of my naval. Turns out they incidentally ran a stitch through a nerve. So, I had to take it easy a bit longer. I still got in activity, but it was walking in the neighborhood or parking far away in a parking lot.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
