WOW! Keep up the great work. I am 8 days post op and I have lost 12 lbs. I am so proud of myself and although I am still a bit sore I feel great! This is the BEST decision I ever made!!

So I was readmitted today for another week. Today they inserted a drainage tube in my abdomen. That seemed to have helped relieve some of the issues. Although that itself cause more pain :/ anyways step one complete! Tomorrow step 2 is having a pic line done. Hopefully from there things will just a start looking up! I'm a little bummed because we had a small trip planned to San Antonio starting this weekend. I am more bummed out by the fact that I am NPO! No Water by mouth! don't even care about the food. Water is my favorites!!!!

Where are you from? I had my surgery done in San Antonio. I sure hope you are feeling better soon and that this will just be a stepping stone to get you there. We are all certainly thinking about you and pulling for you.

Am I the only one that wakes up every morning 2-3 lbs lighter than the day before and get nervous because the weight is melting off so so soooo fast?

You must have let off something in the air. I had my first bowel movement this morning. It was actually soft and it wasn't much. Interesting thing is it was black like a baby's first poop.

If they gave you Vitamins in the hospital then the black poop thing is likely the Iron from the vitamins.

Oh you might be right. They gave me an entire IV bag of vitamins.

I got mine 3 days post op. I'm 6 days post op and it ended today. But I've lost 15 lbs so far.

Ok guys....I haven't been having any major issues getting Water and Protein in so obviously I'm starting to feel like a weirdo or that something is wrong with me. I'm about 12 days post op and feel pretty good. No hunger whatsoever either. I keep reading on the threads how everyone's struggling to get water and protein and feeling weak. I know it seems insane to worry about doing too well' date=' but I'm starting to think the surgeon tricked me <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

It's funny that you say that, I feel fine so a couple of times I've wondered if they actually did it. I'm 6 days post op. no pain meds since 36 hours after surgery. Having no issues getting in my protein and fluids. I can't drive but with transportation help have already taken my daughter to the dentist and done some light shopping twice. I initially asked for 2 weeks off but think I probably could have gone back after one. Glad to have two since it falls in with the school break so I get to enjoy the extra time with my kiddos. I did have a sore throat a few days after surgery but I gargled with Listerine and it went away.

Has anyone found that massaging your belly helps move the gas?

~Leticia **SW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221**4 days post op: 10 lbs down**

I did that and I pulled my legs to my chest one at a time. I remembered the pediatrician showing me that one when my children were gassy little babies! It worked! No gas pains for me since day 2.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
