On day 6 of the Optifast diet and kinda miserable. Saturday was awful' date=' I was starving all day. I finally resorted to a small salad and felt a bit better. Sunday wasn't great either but I wasn't as hungry as yesterday. Maybe I was better with the Water and Snacks. It's all a blurr these days!

Haven't tried the chicken Soup but have almost gone through a box of Tomato Soup. I did add some garlic, onion flakes, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese to make it tolerable. Helped a lot and seems to make you feel fuller than the drinks.

I also have been mixing a vanilla and chocolate drink with some ice and a squirt of chocolate Syrup to make "milk shakes" Shared with my boy friend and 3 year old nephew and neither would drink them! Lol. I thought it was pretty good, so it must mean I'm getting used to them!

Just keep telling yourself "you're almost done! You're almost done! " only one more week!!

Are you able to have Soups? I'm not and I'm in day 6 also. I cheated on Saturday with soup and salad, I had such a horrible headache and was so hungry.

I also have a cold and Dr. Says I can only have Tylenol, it's been hard drinking the shakes with a sore throat. I hope I'm ok by next Tuesday.

We're almost there!

Mayo's choice of liquid diet is Optifast. I have to go back and pick it up tomorrow, but they said no appetite suppressants. I can have 5 shakes a day. They didn't say anything about sf Jello or Soups or anything else. After reading everything on here I am so afraid I am going to be cheating left and right. I start the diet March 3rd and have to go until March 15th.

Don't worry, Janel… you'll get through it. 5 shakes is a lot. I get to have four a day starting march 4th to 24th. I've heard sooo many people say they can have SF Jello and broth while on Optifast ( my papers say I can have that too) that I bet if you're realllly hungry, it wouldn't hurt you. But, if you time your shakes, I bet five will get you through the day :) You Can Do It!!!

I started Optifast Monday I am supposed to be on it for 2 weeks. I have gastric sleeve and gallbladder surgery on August 11th. I bought everything they had the bars all flavors the Soups chicken and tomatoe and the shakes all flavor. OMG it is horrible I am constantly nauseated I have excruciating headaches. I feel so sick I have diarrhea , I already cheated I have been eating Wendy's salad and cheese strings. I don't know what to do. Is there any other replacement diet. Please advise, I appreciate any advise and prayer, Evaconda.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
