I did my surgery February 28,2012 my starting weight was 245lbs and my current weight today is 135lbs. This past year has been a journey. Starting my journey with the "what the hell did I do to myself" that was tough, losing a lot of hair, dumping really bad a few times has not been good. Everyday has been a challenge of what to eat, some days i'm good other days it sucks. I started thinking if this is how the rest of my life is gonna be? My weight loss has stopped and I'm ok with that I went below my goal of 140lbs. Now I deal with a lot of mental issues. Anyone out there dealing with this?

Y'all ate eating salads and are doing well?

The only time I have a problem is when I overeat them. God, I feel like I could LIVE off of "Organic mixed spring greens" salads, but my pouch still has a limited capacity for volume, even though the calories are practically negligible...

Okay, Today was day 3 of using MyFitnessPal RELIGIOUSLY to write down all my food and activities. Not surprisingly, I'm eating better and exercising more than any time in the last month. I'm so tempted to jump on the scale, but it's TOO SOON!

Lord, give me strength to wait until Friday to weigh myself!

I am so ready to eat salads but I've been avoiding them because I have heard horror stories from people about adverse effects after eating them. Some say that they couldn't eat salads for two years after surgery. So I am thrilled over the moon to hear otherwise.

Please tell me what raw veggies digest the best/worst. What Salad Dressing do you use of any? Etc.....

(So excited)!!!!!!

My salads are typically baby spinach or mixed greens, I've included cucumber, carrots, celery, radish, avocado, and olives at various points with no issue with any. (I can only eat a few baby carrots and I'm stuffed but with shredded carrots on a salad I'm fine). I usually top with turkey, egg white, and cheese so it's a full meal and I've been using Newmans Own light dressings, I have a couple different favors. They're around 45 calories for 2 tablespoons but I don't need 2 tablespoons :).

No tummy issues at all with the salads and fiber is my friend! Good luck. I'd start small with just a few bites of a single veg and see how you do!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
