March Surgery Dates

Recommended Posts

Well it's checkout time and so glad to be going home. Been pain free since yesterday. And it's been wonderful' date=' for a major op, very little pain.

Just that gas!!

Doc is sending me home with some meds, just in case.

Now to join the march post op thread.[/quote']

Ok so I realize you aren't on the stage 2 diet yet but the theory might help you with a stage 1 food...I discovered a little tip for moving gas....I've been having major gas pains and I couldn't burp (it would just sit in my chest and burn) and it wasn't going anywhere with gas x and walking. So I ate some pureed spaghettio's (since they make me gassy) and while they were delish, they made me more gassy and I have completely gotten rid of the gas pain in my shoulders.

I hate talking about passing gas but hey...it's a fact of life and if it helps relieve anyone else's has pain...it's worth it!!

I had really strange food dreams last night. I'm just happy I finally slept most of the night, but those were some vivid, probably depraved, yet delicious dreams. Hope everyone is doing better and getting stronger today.

I've seen topics where members having surgery in the same month have kinda banded together to offer support and encouragement to one another. I think this is a wonderful idea' date=' and I'd like to see if there's anyone having surgery in March that would like to support one another.

I have a tentative date for the second or third week in March. I have UHC through Georgia Pacific and they use BRS for approvals. I don't expect any delays, nor does my surgeon's office, so she saved me a spot, so to speak, lol.

Tonight I have my psyc eval, and Monday is my information class, I have two more visits, 2/5 and 3/5 of my six month supervised diet, and on March 5th when I leave my PCP's office, I'll take my worksheet to the surgeon and we'll submit to insurance. That's where I'm at!

I'd love to talk with others that are looking at the same time frame as me!! :D[/quote']

I have my surgery March 27th. Excited and nervous.

Anyone with a BMI over fifty that DOES NOT have to do Lovenox injections for a month post op?

Not positive but I do not think I have to do the love oz after I leave the hospital and my BMI is over 50. It is amazing the differences fin the requirements of various docs.

I had mine this past Tuesday and didn't have it until 1:00 PM and I'm diabetic! Rest assured though, by that morning I wasn't even hungry anymore since the day before was Clear Liquids. You are going to do great, and I am super excited for you. I'm 4 days out and feeling pretty good and I'm a gigantic wuss :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
