Just a little advice to everyone!

I'm 5 days post op and my biggest helps so far ar gas x strips, heating pad, walking, body pillows and a tervis cup filled with crystal light. And definitely nothing too hot or too cold.

Cream of wheat

Jello

oatmeal

Popsicles

Carb master yogurt from Kroger

Hunts sf pudding

Adkins Protein Drinks or pure Protein or Unjury.

I would have someone stock up for u or have it before u go in!

If I think of anything else I will post.

Anyone have any other good mushies to share?

Hi Naireli, I'm 3 days post-op, but I have to be on clear liquid diet for the whole week. Next week I get to me on liquid diet too. I'm jealous of your food choices.

One yogurt I would suggest is the DannonLight n Fit Greek yogurt-has 12 grams of protein and 6-8 grams of sugars which I'm told is ok. The only Greek yogurt I found to be tasty.

I also hang pretty tightly to the anti-gas and Papaya Enzyme tablets. The papaya is a natural enzyme that aids in digestion. I've been having a really tough time with nausea and reflux. Hoping it ends soon!

Hello everyone

I had my pre-op appointment today. I am down below my required pre-surgery weight and I am getting so nervous about surgery. It is only a week away. My kids said I have been grumpy and it is because of my pre-op diet, lol. I am thinking about each and every one of you and wishing you all a speedy recovery.

I was relaxing watching the tube and got a e mail from my surgeons office saying my case is in review and we should have a authorization in a few days. I just got that jolt of nerves and my gut said ( oh crap) this is getting real. I have been cool as a cucumber up to now

Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Yes! I'm almost a week post op and still having those feelings. I know its the pains and the thought of not eating my favorite foods which see to come on tv every other commercial. But having faith in the decision i made in January was the one that would set me up for a better more healthy life.

The minute I think about Texas toast covered with cheese and burger and bacon I think about not eating that and how smoking I'm going to look in my bikini.....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
