March Surgery Dates

Is anyone looking at what type of Protein to use after? I found this syntax nectar and people are raving about the taste its whey Protein isolate and apparently tastes great. I have my pre op class 3/7 I'm gonna ask more about it then.

I bought the lemon ice tea of the nectar.... I have to check it out. But Vitamin shoppe manager said he heard only good things from other WLS patients

Yeah it all has to be done within a two year period. I was surprised about all of the labs too' date=' but I assume I will have some of those done during my pre-op right?[/quote']

They should have given you a sheet with the list of labs to get. Also u can call to ask if it was overlooked or was to be taken care of later. Just not too late because if there is an issue u need the time to correct it and show results.

OK I am getting worried. My husband started taking classes on the 14th in addition to working full time. I work 50 hours a week so am exhausted when I get home from work. He has been pretty much doing all the house stuff as he works less hours then I do. But now with school he will not be able to. I am going to have to somehow find the energy to pick up the slack. Hopefully I get more energy fast!

Well he may have to help more post op..... So how about splitting chores and only doing it on weekends. Cook and freeze or refrigerate a weeks worth of food on a weekend day......( broil, bake, steam, etc).

I can't do too much myself.... But I get help from oldest son at times...

Who is your insurance through? It sounds a lot like mine!! I have UHC and they use BRS Bariatric Resource Solutions for all their WLS aprrovals.

I had to have six consecutive monthly visits (not necessarily the same physician, which made things pretty easy) At every visit the doc had to sign my worksheet with the date, my weight, and check at least one of three little boxes saying they advised me on what to eat, or exercise, or behavior changes... I had to have a BMI of 40 or greater or at least 35 with one co morbidity (diabetes, high bp, sleep ap, etc) and a psyc eval.

Absolutely no worries with the EGD you literally fall asleep and wake up like nothing ever happened to you. You will be a little drowsy for the rest of the evening, but just sleep that off. Also be sure to drink Water after for your throat.

Ur out for it..... They have u on ur side and prepped before they give u medication. It's like. Taking a nap. I had no issues after. Walked out. Had a ride. They sit with u after to let u know if any ulcer or other issues occur. If so they give u meds and a follow up EGD date to make sure it's gone.....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
