What ya eating tonight?

I have run across some very high Protein low sugar yogurt. It's called SIGGI'S. I found it at Wegmans. It's Icelandic style yogurt and it is pricey but it has 14 grms protein and only 9 sugar. Very thick and creamy 8 flavors.

Dannon and Yoplait both now have low sugar Greek yogurt. The strawberry and vanilla flavors only have 7g sugar. Other flavors too, but I didn't look at those.

WHERE DID YOU GET TURKEY PEPPERONI?

living4myself_gb1-21-13:

I get it at Harris Teeter or food Lion, but I think most grocery stores have it. Look where the bags of pizza pepperoni are, Hormel makes turkey pepperoni. It has been a great treat. I toast it in the toaster oven. Crispy, salty, and all Protein.

Aside from those who are on their liquid diets, I feel like I am eating so limited/restricted compared to others who are on on the pureed foods stage like me. For one I am scared to try new foods. I've gotten sick a couple of times already once from eating eggs and once from eating pureed (canned) split pea Soup.< /p>

My instruction packet says that by now I should be eating some soft foods but when I contacted my surgeon the other day she still wanted me on mushy/pureed foods. I'm glad I have an appointment With her next Friday.

I'm scared to try new foods but at the same time I miss eating and I am left feeling hungry only on pureed foods.

Today I had 4 ounces of 2% cottage cheese for Breakfast, 2 ounces of chicken broth & one 8z. carton of Muscle Milk for lunch and I may have 4 Oz lentils or chick peas for dinner.< /p>

Not enough protein!

I'm going back through the forums getting so ideas, can't wait to try the buffalo chicken cupcakes! I feel sometimes Im not eating the right things.. But I was told if I can tolerate it (like bread or pasta) to eat it.. I can't eat very much at all.. but I eat alot of string cheese and try to eat my Protein before anything else that I make for dinner. I think I'm going to start getting sliced deli meat to eat with my cheese because I'm struggling getting my protein in. My hair is falling out as a result of it.. so hopefully I can get this all figured out, I had surgery 10/31/12-- so its not like I'm a newbie at this, just some days are better than others. I eat alot of crackers, and cashews and try to eat a Protein Bar once a day, but I'm getting tired of those! I don't like the drinks either. When I want something sweet, I eat teddy grahams. I appreciate you all posting ideas, I'm going to try the morningstar sausage and boca burgers. Thanks again!

Tonight I'm making Philly cheesesteak-style sloppy joes. It's ground turkey with peppers and onions and melted provolone on top on a whole wheat roll (for hubby, no roll for me)

Here's the recipe: http://www.emilybite...-joes.html#more

Ive made these before I had surgery, very good.. I'll try them again too, just without the bun this time! :)

Do you roast cumin seeds then grind them?

Yes. I roast them in the oven before I grind them. I love cumin and this makes it rich and warm and toasty.

I found Kashi made a pizza 15 grams of Protein a slice. Now I could I only eat a small sliver but it was good. I've been wanting pizza so I satisfied my craving healthier. Problem is super thirsty afterwards

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
