What ya eating tonight?

Recommended Posts

Tonight I had 3 chicken "nuggets" with some mustard. I had some egg salad for lunch today that didn't sit well, I think it's probably because it wasn't made with lowfat mayo

And that 1 fried chicken leg was 24 grams of protein and 6 grams of carbs. Thats really good. Mostly i eat rotisserie or baked so this was different

It was my first subway and my last for a good while. I do have to agree with you on the bread. Even if it was wheat bread it wasn't 100% whole wheat.

I know it's hard not to get some sort of carbs in with meals. Does anyone know how many carbs we are actually suppose to have a day like a total? They preach about Protein and making sure we get no less then 60 grams a day but my Nut never said anything about carbs

U could always have them scoop the bread out so it's not as thick... If u know what I mean

Guys. Gals.

We need to remember something. Our pouch is simply one tool in our bag of tricks.

There are two other others. One is our food choices, type and quantity, and our third is exercise.

We can ruin our "tool" by putting too much in it and stretching it.

We need to commit to changing our food lifestyle permanently for long term sucess. That means strictly restrict our carbs...and yes, they taste good. But skinny tastes better.

We severely need to restrict fried foods, bread, rice, potatoes, Desserts, empty carbs. You WILL lose weight regardless what you do the first 18 months afrer surgery. But if you don't create new habits now, despite the smaller stomach, your wls will fail you.

If you do fried foods. ..and even when you take off the breading...the food you consume is saturated with the grease it was cooked in. A diet rich in low fat Protein and fruits and veggies will be tough to go overboard on the calories. Its not as tasty. ..but its so much healthier for you.

Where are you from? There was a Brooks BBQ near where I went to college in Upstate NY

I live in new Hartford NY. Brooks travels to our local firehouse twice a year for a fundraiser. My fav chicken and coleslaw

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
