Relationships after rny!

Recommended Posts

I have not been in a relationship for a few years now and have not been looking for one...well about 1 1/2 month before surgery I met a man online..not a dating site...we began talking thru email everyday...i kept telling myself I'm not going to get involved because I want to spend this time working on me and don'T want to get sidetracked...i didn't take long tho for us to feel we are in love...we have not met yet in person but we talk daily on the phone...he asked me several times not to have the surgery as he was concerned but I had to do this for me and my health...of course he knows what I look like....we plan to meet very soon but I have to admit I'm a little nervous! I'm hoping my fears don't get in the way...anyone have any advice for me?

Sky, that's pretty cool. Just take it real slow and you'll be fine. :-)

My relationship with my husband has gotten stronger. I will say other female family members have not treated me well. It's true that others that are used to eating with you etc do not know how to be around you after surgery. It's part jealousy & their own issues with food they haven't dealt with. Keep those that support you close.

A wonderful relationship is in your future.

Thank you for your kind words... I ask all to pray for me as this has been a very rough time for me. I have been very depressed. I have a hx of bipolar' date=' major depression and high anxiety. I am not on any medications at this time due to exercise prayer and meditation. Every time I work out its like taking an antidepressant due to the release of endorphins. The up side yo this is that my new found confidence has made it easier for me to go out into the world and meet people

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
