Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Hey Violets~

What a day! We just finished, W/ THE PRIMER! Tomorrow, the guy will be here to scrape the ceilings, we (susanne and i) will paint Thursday, (unless we are too beat and decide to go w/ the white primer (looks great)), and then the carpet will be put in on Friday. The carpet guy, Monty, is my first boyfriend. He did our other house before we sold it, and this house when I remodeled...so I get the "first love discount". LOL, it was pretty funny introducing my first boyfriend to my first girlfriend...lol (to myself).

Anyway, my feet are soo hurt, they are not even speaking to me anymore.

Today I ate

1 Protein Shake (4 oz low carb yogart, 1/3 cup frozen berries, 1 banana, 1/3 c. skim milk) in the magic bullet

1 small steak (4oz) and steamed zuccinni

2 oz of cheese

1 bowl of Cereal for dinner (after this post)

I am too tired to calculate the calories...but not too bad. I will be filled tomorrow, and on liquids for a few days.

Have a great night violets. Sweet dreams.

Josie - Have fun in DC!!

TracyK - Hiiii!!

Michelle - At my age I don't give a rat's .....uh....I don't care what anyone else thinks about how I look at the gym or in the pool. I see girls actually PRIMPING in the locker room before they work out...fixing their hair and makeup. It's ridiculous. Anyway...enjoy your class tomorrow! That sounds great!

Jenn - I do hope you feel better tomorrow! Just feel drained or what? No word on the construction job?

Haydee - I LOVE cranberries - thanks for the tip! I'm going to try that!

Pamela - Man! sounds like ya'll worked hard today! You'll sleep good, that's for sure. How long will DP be in town?

I enjoyed my workout tonight. I just did cardio but what was cool was that I had to work harder to get my heartrate up to 125 and that's a GOOD thing! While I was on the X-trainer this young thang gets on the one next to me. She's going slower than I am, huffing and puffing, sweating...and I look over and her heart rate was 170!! :D She only lasted about 10 minutes -- I went for 25 + another 15 on the cycle! I am just the greatest thing since sliced bread, aren't I? :humble: :humble: :humble:

Good evening ladies....boy it is a good thing I didn't come here until after dinner, or I would have been wanting to eat it ALL---well maybe not the broccoli!!! Actually I will eat both broccoli or cauliflower, but only raw, I do not like either one cooked!

My food today was not great, but.....I did a lot so hoping it balanced out! I have no idea of calorie count.

breakfast--about 1/2 c. of Honey Bunches of O's---2 % milk, maybe a 1/2 cup. I ate all but the last 2 bites, I was full.

lunch--leftover stuffed zuchini ( cut in half lengthwise, hollowed out, filled with a mixture of italian sausage, garlic, onions, mushrooms, bell pepper, marinara sauce, and cheeses--mozzarella, parmesan, romano) The meat is browned, veggies added, then stirred in the sauce, spooned into the hollowed out meat, and then cheese over the top. Then baked at 375 for about 25 minutes, til the squash is tender. Be sure to sprinkle liberally with garlic salt before filling with meat sauce. I had a leftover slice, about 2 inches long. Took longer to tell you about it than to make ir OR eat it!!!!! j/k

snack--SF popsicle with the girls, when we come home from the pool.

dinner--Made BLT's for DH with his fresh tomatoes---like the 3rd or 4th ones we have had ripen enough to use, they are coming on like crazy now!!! I just snacked, ate a couple of slices of bacon, and had a wedge of lettuce--just wasn't hungry. I think I drank too much tea when we come home today, I felt dehydrated, but Water was too blah, so I filled up on unsweetened Decaf tea...DH calls it my colored water!

I am finished eating for the day----I have to have my pouch empty when I go to bed, or I reflux----yech!

I am going to have to make me a folder to store some of these recipes in!!!

Tomorrow I am putting pork tenderloin in the crockpot.....any suggestions????

I am off to the shower, I feel like I have been in the water all day!

Will try to check back in, if not I'll see y'all in the morning!

I think I will call my parents and tell them thank you for being so supportive---I know I am extremely lucky. Back when I was a kid they "adopted" all my friends, they were Mom & Dad to everyone---they will adopt all of you too!!!

Hugs Violets! Not that it matters, but that makes me smile---Violet was my Grandma's name....I miss her so much!

Kat

funny, everyone seems to be in the 900 calorie range and here I'm trying hard to increase mine.

I think I made very healthy choices today but I need to do something, I found my very original paperwork and at my old weight I needed to eat 1500 cals to lose 2lbs a week, so worth a try at this point.

I don't know I am just beat, so off to bed. I think I took too many days off the gym, today included because i spend most of the morning in the bathroom.

Anyway. I'll be heading out early in the am

terry - i should hear by the end of the week on that job.

Terry---today my exercise consisted of a 20 minute program on the elliptical trainer, then I took the girls to the pool, and spent 2 1/2 hours catching a 2 & a 6 year old when they jumped in from the edge, and holding them while the kicked. Holding one, and one holding onto me like a little monkey!!!

Kinda took it easy today, tomorrow I will be bucking probably 75 bales at 80 pounds a piece, and moving them minimally 2 times each. Once from the ground to the trailer, then from the trailer into the barn, and we are going up with them this time, so hopefully the conveyor belt holds out---or it will be serious work!!!

We also have to try to cut a young bull from the herd...and bib him ( a spiked ring that goes through his nose---not through, but clamps onto it....he is nursing all the cows, and is bullying the calves out of the milk. The mamas don't care for the most part, they just want the relief of the milk being gone. So this ring will gouge the cow everytime he tries to nurse, and he mama cow will kick at him and keep him away from her, eventually he will get tired of being kicked, and let the calves have their own dinner. Anyway we will cut him out, run him into a squeeze chute, squeeze him down, and clamp his dang nose! Glutton! Maybe I needed to be bibbed!!!!

I wanted to go to Curves again, but my DD had to work late, so the girls were here late....and then it was time to cook dinner. I felt like the pool worked me pretty good tho!

Thank you for making sure I keep it up---I am getting sooooo close, it keeps me motivated!

Just checking in before I head to bed. DH and I biked 5 miles tonight. I had a rehearsal until 9 so we didn't have the hour to ride like usual. I said I HAD to do a half hour so we kept riding around and around and around and around.. well you get the idea.... the neighborhood. Got the half hour in and I'm happy. Tomorrow is a lazy day. No meetings, no rehearsals.. just doing what I want to do. And the pool was 80 degrees tonight.. so I should be able to get back in it tomorrow. We just came in from the hot tub and it was really nice.

Everyone sleep well and we'll talk tomorrow. AND don't forget to follow those bandster rules!!!

Kat~That stuffed zuccinni sounded soooo good. I started my recipe file with that one. OOOOO my, can't wait to make and eat that. Thanks for that one!

Terry~ DP will be here until Sunday, and I think her parents are coming in Sat. We do lots of work when she is here, and when she is not, I tend to sit more. She will retire soon (next summer) and will move in then, if not before (if a transfer can come in). Thanks for asking:biggrin1:.

All this talk about food. I had my 3rd fill today and I am on liquids for the day. So all my meals are liquid.< /p>

Jennifer; your request is in the mail.

Denise; your's will be in the mail tomorrow. My nutritionist was included with my cost. Did/does your doctor have a nurse and nutritionist on staff that you can talk too. It's hard to believe that a doctor will do the surgery and then offer you no support. Check and see what services he provides.

He doesn't have a nutritionist on staff. He did the resting metabolic test for me. I had to sit and breathe through my mouth with a clothes pin type thing over my nose. I was hooked up to a computer. It showed that I have an extremely slow metabolism . He just told me to eat 70% Protein and

30% fruits and veggies, for a total of no more than 1,000 calories per day.

Of course the more I exercise, the more I will burn and I am supposed to lose, but I don't. I figure I will eventually but it makes it hard to stay motivated.

Thanks for putting that in the mail for me!

I think I need to stop weighing myself every day. I get so disappointed when I think it's about time to go down again and nothing happens.

TracyK - go you!

I don't get it, i'm back to 221 this am, i'm bouncing 3 lbs. I'm going o cut cals back to 1000 today, which should be easy since i ate so much for me yesterday. It was so hot and humid. I do retain at work and drink excessively. I can't wait to go to the dr on friday. I'm frustrated and want a miracle - I'm obviously willilng to do what I need to, i just don't know what that is

Morning all, crawling out of bed, it is raining so very hard here, perfect day to sleep but i'm up, i have to hit the bank, pay a bill, and hit the gym this am. I think i am missing working out every day because I'mm falling back into my bad habit of sleeping quickly

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
