Recommended Posts

I put a peice of sf gum in my mouth and it must of triggered something because now My hunger pains are enough to make me nautious!

Tracy...

earlier I did the same thing. I was really hungry (day 3 liquids for me) and I decided to chew a piece of gum. I didn't notice getting hungrier, but man did I get nautious!!!!! weird.

Thanks for the welcome Terry. It is exciting to see that the April Ops have started! Best wishes for everyone. ;)

I was wondering if someone could explain to me about how the Exercise Challenges work? It sounds like a great idea and something that might help me to get more active.

Ellen & Gr8ful -- WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!

Panda and Darla: WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO! Welcome to bandland babes! You are our first banded posters. Get some sleep and post when you can.

I MADE IT through DaY ONE of liquids! Yay ME! :hungry:

I bought one of those el cheapo hand mixer (magic bullet) type contraptions at Walmart today, and suprisingly it turned my ready to drink

Protein Shake into a thick milk shake thing.... it was easy to use and much easier to clean than the regular blender.

I plan to walk again at lunch tomorrow....... it is two fold, 1. get some exercise and 2. keeps my mind off not eating lunch.

Have a great night and to those getting banded tomorrow.......

SWEET DREAMS!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Sure, Ellen! It's just a group of people who set goals for exercise for the coming month. We've kinda globbed onto the April 06 Bandits because they are very inspiring. They've been kind enough to take us '07'ers under their wing and invited us to join their challenge group. The link to their thread is here: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/april-bandits-exercise-t32404.html?t=32404 Basically you just commit to the challenge and then do your best to meet or beat your goals! It must work because I actually DID exercise when I got home tonight. (Nobody faint!!)

JENN - I am so glad to hear that you're taking your laptop!! I'd really miss you around here! I hope you have a WONDERFUL time on your vacation. You deserve it! Keep up the good work with that diet, ok? You're doing so great! Thanks for your kind words. It's not me I'm worried about getting sick, it's helping to take care of my mom if they put her in the hospital. But it's looking like she'll be OK...crossing my fingers and toes.

Well, I notice that it is not possible to post photos to one's journal ;) . I took my "before photos" so I'll post them here just so ya'll can see who you're talking to! Now, keep in mind that I had just "Walked Away The Pounds" (yeah, right) :pound: and I DO clean up better than this! These were taken tonight. (Check out those JOWLS!)

Congrat's to all who had their procedures today!

I went for my preop doctor appt -- I am good to go for 4-9.

During our conversation today he told me the following:

1. He would never turn my surgery into Open procedure.

2. He has never had an issue of not being able to place the band on an patient.

3. He uses the larger band 10cc on most patients - has better results and it can be restricted to the same size as the smaller 4cc band.

4. I will be able to go back to taking Alieve and other medicines I take/took the day after surgery. ( I thought I would not ever be able to take Advil and Alieve ever again - with the band.)

5. For the day before and after the surgery when I am on Clear Liquids -- I can take the "IDS Sports whey Liquid" -- it has 42 grams of Protein in 3 oz of liquid. This will be especially helpful in getting my protein in after surgery. I tried the grape flavor - it is like liquid Jello -- and the taste is like the smarties candy.< /p>

ids-newwhey42grams.jpg Here they are...

Lots of love to all of you!!!!!!!

Good night all!

Gina

Wow Terry!! I wish I looked that good in my workout gear!! In fact, come to think of it, I don't think I even fit them any more! Ooops.

Great idea to take a 'before' photo - I will take one tomorrow.

Thanks for the link. I will check it out.

Ellen. ;)

Terry- you look like, I'd like to look, after much success!!! You look great already, can't wait to see ya' more sexy in 6 months!! I'm glad you did not burn your hair off, it goes well with the outfit!!!! ha ha

I was in and out in 8 hrs. Checked in at 5:30a.m. and checked out at 1:30p.m. I would not have been able to read or use a laptop- I was on to go or, to drowsy to type! Surgery went very well and quick! It seemed like quite a while before I could keep my eyes open, even for a short time. We left the hospital, and went to Wal-mart (DH insisted to save$$$) for my perscription of liquid Loritab. He left me in the truck....forever and..... other pain relief wore off completely!!!! I was crying before he got back...(it was about 3p.m.) then, choked on medication trying to drink from the "lid", since Wal-mart was sooo cheap, they didn't even offer a tiny cup!! After another 30 minutes, Iwas just fine!!! In fact I have done some light housework, had company over, and can make it up the stairs by myself. I was even able to watch DH eat candy bars and his dinner with NO-PROB!! I'm just NOT HUNGERY!!! imagine that!!! (must be the swelling)

I can poke at my incisions with no pain except for the port one! Some minor bruising, no bleeding, and now only dicomfort/no real pain! GOOD LUCK TO THOSE TOMMOROW! And all on the diets--diet is die with a T.

Wow Maziemommy it sounds like everything went really well for you.. well apart from the Wal-mart mishap.. I'm really impressed you had company over and did housework! For some reason I have to stay in hospital for 2 nights so there won't be much socialising for me. ;)

Anyway, all the best for your recovery.

Ellen :)

Maizemommy -

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing your experience I am getting anxious about my surgery but your post really helps put me at ease. If I can just get through dropping my daughter at daycare and make it to the Drs office w/o the nerves kicking in I may be ok. ;) I'll be ultra relieved just to have that part over.

Happy healing!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
