No my insurance approved me already! Next step is the one weight management class and losing 15 lbs before surgery... I'm really scared but that's to be expected I'm sure! My surgeon said after insurance sends them papers back I should be on the operating table next month sometime! And thanks for the advice I will start reading where you said to. I've kinda just been skimming over things and reading them.

Oh wow that's quick!!! How exciting for you!!!!

Good luck to everyone today. Had my pre op meeting with the surgeon this morning and that went fantastic. Now been sitting at the hospital for an hour to do their pre op drill and they are saying it is going to be at least another 30 minutes. Thank goodness for the work iPad. Going to be a busy couple of days getting things tied up at work, but ready to get this show on the road. Had a huge fight with my mom yesterday about her telling people about the surgery and me not wanting to. At least not until after. Just tired of answering people's questions and explaining things. I will be much happier when it is done :)

Thanks for all the luck for our surgeries tomorrow and beyond! I am anxiously waiting to find out what time tomorrow! My husband told me yesterday he had a whole list of things for me to do for him for the next month " since I will only be sitting around on my stationary bike watching TV"! Hahaha!

Hi! I'm new! Been reading blogs for the last couple of weeks and now it's time to post :-). Band to RNY revision on 2/19/13 so please add me to your Fab Febs :-)

I have 4 kids (12 girl' date=' 10 boy, 7 boy, and 3 girl). Happily married for 16 years.

You all are so amazing and inspiring! Your amazing journeys are awesome to follow as I venture on mine. I did not have to do any Pre-op diet for my band in 2007. This time I have a new to me and MUCH better doc for revision to RNY.

I started the liver reduction diet Jan 31 then went to liquid only on Feb 11. Tomorrow is Clear liquids only then Tuesday is the BIG DAY! I won't know for sure I got the RNY til I wake up abs someone tells me. My doc scheduled both procedures - band and port removal then RNY for same OR time block. 4 to 4 1/2 hours! Doesn't that seen long?! I know that's total time for the OR which included prep, surgery, and clean up. Anyone else with something similar?

I'm nervous, anxious, excited all at the same time. Thanks for letting me join your group![/quote']

Hi soft ball Mom I had the same surgery Feb 6 as you are going to have. Yes 3.5 to 4 0 hours including prep time. Taking down the band first and cleaning up any adhesions you may have. Then on to TNT.

I was on band number two when I started having suck issues with it being empty. My only issue at the moment its a severe ripping pain when I stand to long and get up from lying or sitting. I know that where the port was from band is sewn onto muscle and muscle is worst pain I guess I will know more on post OP visit this wed. I would like to go back to work in march.

Port site pain is a BEAR!!!!! Bothered me for over a month. My doc says he literally had to scrape y port off my abdominal wall....OUCH. Even with my band already gone and healed my revision was 3 hours....RNY is not an easy surgery, add in that we're revisions and it really can be a mess! Oh how I love life without my band though'!!!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
