Anna Nicole Smith has died

I don't think the cause of death came as a surprise and she was on a VERY dangerous combination of drugs. I would guess she saw several MDs to get those drugs. If one MD prescribed them all he/she should lose the ability to practice medicine. It's sad.

Actually they said on court tv today that she was on regular doses of the meds she was taking. Nothing should have been toxic. The fever, her system being weak from depression and the virus all made her more prone to an overdose. She had been on the combo of drugs for quite a while, the only new meds were antibiotics. She was injecting human growth hormones into her hip and there was infection in the injection site as well as a mass on her butt cheek that was infected. There were 9 medications in her system all considered within normal doses. ~Mandy

She's had a very long history of abusing prescription drugs. Anyone else who took that combination would need to get to an ER STAT. It's a shame she didn't get therapy WITH the medications... a VERY strong sleeping med, anti-anxiety, anti-depressants, human growth hormone, etc. Again... very sad but the real sorrow if for her daughter.

I just finished reading the autopsy report. ANS was taller than I realized - 5' 11" - and weighed 178 pounds at the time of her death.

The "lethal" drug found in her system was Chloral Hydrate, a sleeping med usually administered only under close supervision. She had also taken Klonopin (an anti-anxiety drug), Valium (a tranquilizer), several muscle relaxants, and Antivan (another anti-anxiety drug). I don't know of any doctor who would prescribe ALL of those to the same patient, in anywhere near the same time frame. Pluse, there was the bodyguard/EMT and the nurse/companion. These so-called professionals failed her miserably. I guess they didn't want to lose their cushy paychecks, so they put their professional integrity in their back pocket and hoped for the best.

The baby daddy is Larry Birkhead. I would bet money on it. And he will probably get custody - eventually.

Did anyone else know that ANS originally named her baby Hannah Rose?

I wish she HAD worked for ANS. My experience with paid care-givers is not good. I hired MANY to take care of my mom and none were very good. The best I could hope for was that they would show up Monday morning, sober, and not steal her blind.

I too hope that ANS's mother doesn't get the opportunity to raise her granddaughter. She obviously made a mess of things with Anna Nicole.

I'd bet that Larry B. is the father too. He has a good idea of the timing and all that. But I'm not so certain that he'd be a great parent. He's much more soft-spoken than anyone else in this case, but Anna Nicole went so far as to hook up with Stern legally and set a wedding date, perhaps to get Larry B. out of her life legally. She obviously was trying to distance herself from Larry. There has to be a reason.

I know most people think that Stern was telling her what to do every step of the way. I think she was probably not the brightest bulb on the porch, but she was smart enough to marry the old man with the money, go through a bad legal battle and win, get an endorsement to do jeans commericals, and get a TV reality show. Some with the help of Stern, some without his help. I think if she didn't have good reason to rely on Stern, and distance herself from Larry, she wouldn't have done what she did.

Lots of people have died from over-dieting, taking diet pills, and other very strong Vitamins, and wind up with heart failure. Lots of people die when they become ill after losing a spouse or child. She was in bad shape, physically and emotionally. It will be interesting to see how the dust settles around all the characters in her life. The poor girl. May she rest in peace.

What do ya'all think the B12 shots were about? Do think it is possible she was a wls paitent??

Nope.....I saw the pathologist on Larry King and he said there was NO evidence of any WLS. I also read the autopsy (it's available on line) and it would have mentioned it, just as it cataloged her breast implants, her piercings, and her tattoos.

Wow! I didn't know it was on the autopsy. Last night on E, I believe they were talking about 3" scars, but of course I fell asleep! lol...

An autopsy report is very graphic and very detailed. It will tell the world if you colored your hair, your real height and weight, every scar and imperfection on your body, and will describe all your internal organs (including your vagina and your anus).

Pretty invasive, huh?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
