Anna Nicole Smith has died

well they say apples dont fall too far from the tree.

Giving that wretched woman custody of the child would be tragic, she already did this much damage to her own daughter, and now she gets a shot at her granddaughter? Man...

Im also in agreement in that we probably should have a great deal of sympathy for Anna. YES no one has mentioned Post Partum! I suffered GREATLY from it and it DOES screw you up . PLUS...addiction is addiction, we are all addicted to food, her poison was something else. Someone said something about how 'she only existed in front of a camera" and i think they are right. When the cameras are off she is just a human being, like us, like our friends, like our relatives, like our neighbors.

The whole thing is very very sad, and very Monroe 2007ish. DISPITE her job, the absolute tragedy of being in one hospital bed having just given birth to a daughter, while one son dies RIGHT THERE IN THE ROOM would be TOO much for me to want to keep going. I have heard she had a high fever and had been sick for days too. I dont think she took her own life...but i think that its almost merciful. Keep in mind too, that during her grief, she was STILL expected to "smile and wear that revealing gown because you are ANS and your image is everything'. CAN YOU IMAGINE what that would be like?

Her real name was Vicky.

its so very sad.

i too am sorry for anna nicole and her unfortunate broadcasted highs and lows...we are all human, right?

i heard on the Today show this morning that now there's speculation that she was inseminated with her rich dead husband's sperm (the old guy)....

can this get any weirder?

MY HEART HURTS FOR ANNA NICOLE EVEN IN HER DEATH

ANNA HAS BEEN TALKED ABOUT AND SCORNED BY THE

PUBLIC..SHE LIVED LIFE JUST AS WE DO, BUT HER LIFE JUST

HAPPEND TO BE EXPOSED TO THE PUBLIC...HER MISTAKES

EXPOSED TO THE PUBLIC.....HER GRIEF EXPOSED TO THE

PUBLIC..HER PAIN WAS EXPOSED TO THE PUBLIC..WE ARE

DIFFERENT BECAUSE NOT MANY KNOW OUR PAIN, MISTAKES,

OR GRIEF NOW I WONDER IF SHE WILL EVEN BE ABLE TO

REST IN DEATH NO BECAUSE IT'S EXPOSED TO THE

PUBLIC...ANNA WAS A BEAUTIFUL LADY BIG OR SMALL SHE

LOVED LIFE AND LIVED IT THE WAY SHE WANTED..BUT I

WONDER IF SHE HAD AN ANGEL TO HELP ENCOURAGE HER

WHEN THINGS GOT TOUGH. ENCOURAGE YOUR FRIENDS

WITH KIND WORDS LOVE THEM, LISTEN TO THEM, EMBRACE

THEIR MISTAKES AND HELP THEM NOT TO MAKE THEM AGAIN

I SINCERLY PRAY THAT GOD HAS MERCY ON HER AND ALLOWS ANNA NICOLE TO GET THE REST SHE NEEDS IN HIS ARMS.....

I agree!!!

You and me both, Missy. I know it's impolite to speak ill of the dead, but come on. Anna Nicole Smith has done just about everything that can be done for money and maybe I'm just an old-fashioned prude, but where I come from (which isn't too far from where SHE came from), they have a name for girls like that.

Exactly. Anna Nicole was someone who we all knew, in some ways. She was young, had a new daughter, and had to watch her son die in front of her. Former nude model or not, I feel sorry for her. She definitely didn't have a very nice life.

And really, can you blame her for using what she had to try and get ahead? I think I would have tried it too, if I had her mother.

I know 2 people who knew her. One is my ex-boyfriend who worked out at the same gym that she frequented back in the early 90s and the other is a friend of the Marshall family. According to both of them, Anna Nicole Smith was a nice person but not very bright at all. I watched her reality show a couple of times and have to agree with that assessment. I feel sorry for her because I don't think she knew any better than to behave the way she did. Had she been born in a different era, society probably would have shunned her. But with today's change in morals and the influence from Hollywood, she instead became a celebrity. I read one article in which a journalist compared her celebrity to that of Paris Hilton. Both are famous for being famous. He noted that the difference was that with Anna Nicole, he had the urge to scoop her up, protect her, and fix her. He said that Paris Hilton would not prompt that response in anyone. I think his point was that underneath you could see that Anna Nicole was a kind, sweet soul who was a victim of both her environment and her own bad choices. And I think we all should have sympathy for that.

Also, Anna Nicole worked to promote animal rights, and as a fellow animal lover, I have to give her at least an iota of respect for that accomplishment.

Yeah when I was growing up people did call girls names for doing anything that showed that they were sexual human beings, but I thought this day and age we women had learned to care about and empathize with other women.

I'm sure you were a single parent some of the time, Carlene, weren't you? Just because you were smart enough not to choose stripping or posing nude for Playboy as a way to make a living for your family, doesn't mean that everyone else is that smart or fortunate.

Anna Nicole didn't even finish high school and yet had a child. The father obviously didn't take his responsibility very seriously and she had to feed herself and her son and put a roof over their heads. I guess since she used her body to make a living we can call her slutty and stupid, but what's the good in us calling her names? Who exactly does that help? Or does it just make us feel superior?

As I was busily typing, Enterprise, laurend and chubbola stuck up for Anna. I think they're right and very sweet for having a such generous spirit toward Anna Nicole.

I think it was pretty obvious that Anna Nicole wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, but I really think she did the best she could. She supported herself and her son, and I think that judging from the way her mom acts, she didn't have much support and help from that arena. I mean, she could have wound up on welfare and working minimum-wage jobs for the rest of her life, and probably would have worked herself to death. She really did use the assets she had, and I respect her for that. She wanted a better life for herself and her son, and she got it.

Yes, I was a single mom for about a year. And no, I didn't pose nude or sell my body to support my children, but not because I was "too smart".

As for mothers, mine would have KILLED me, had I publicly humiliated her by doing an Anna Nicole Smith.

Sorry, everyone, but I have a HUGE problem with women and the "flesh industry". I think all of it - strip clubs, Playboy type mags, porn films, etc - dehumanizes women and reduces them to the status of a commodity. A not very savory commodity, at that.

Edited to add...

When my kids were younger, they had a friend who dated, then married, a "dancer". She is actually a very pleasant young woman who eventually had two children and quit stripping. She became a kindergarten teacher in the same suburban community where she used to work a pole every night. That could give a whole new meaning to "meet the teacher night", if any of her old customers should show up. Anyway, her folks do not know, to this day, that she was once a stripper. I told my daughter that if she ever decided to take off her clothes for a living, she either had to move far away, or wear a mask and assume a stage name so that none of her brothers' friends (or, God forbid, her brothers) would recognize her, should they meet her in a professional capacity.

Hi, They also have a name for men that partake in sexual behaviour of that nature, or are we still stuck back in the dark ages?!!. Unless we are all perfect in every way, sorry I don't think we are in a position to judge to be honest. Susannah

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
