Experiencing extreme cold?

Hi guys. Has anyone been experiencing extreme cold post-op? If so, has the doctor explained to you why? I mean besides the obvious of having less padding?

I've been do cold it sometimes hurts.

Any tips or suggestions?

It can also be because of our low calorie diets. Calories create heat.

I am earely cold' date=' but have hot cold flashes. I get, angry when I get too hot.[/quote']

I get angry too.my doc is having me take more Vitamins

I have been freezing ever since the surgery too! I wear socks, Pj's, Robe and sometimes even a hat and gloves in my house! I spent my christmas money at LLBean buying a new winter coat and hat! At work, I had the tech's adjust my office temp to 76 degree's! Still cold! Today I am wearing a Camisole, long sleeve shirt, sweater, corduroy pants and Ugg boots. Oh well, can't wait for summer which I used to HATE because I was always so hot!

I'm always freezing too...dr told me I was severely anemic....taking more iron should help...lets see!

Sweater, long sleeve polo, t-shirt and long johns. My wife thinks I am crazy as I used to walk around the house in a t-shirt and boxers year-round. Ch-ch-ch-changes....

Stay in a constant state of coldness...miserable!

I get cold a lot! I've had to buy a lot of fuzzy socks and carry an extra jacket or sweater with me. Thankfully, my work is always close to 80, so that's the one place that I stay warm, lol!

First time to wear heavy sweatshirts at home. I now wear socks all the time. And the first winter in years to catch a very bad cold too

I guess that's a side effect of surgery, because I use to be hot all the time now I wear gloves to bed and my heater was broke over Christmas and had to wait until 2 days ago to get it fixed. I couldn't move I was so cold. Maybe once we maintain our weight it will get better

Please ladies and gents. Up your iron. Being extremely cold isn't good for you

How are your iron levels? I was anemic pre-op due to vitamin deficiency, so I know that feeling!

I take an Iron chewable pill everyday now. I think it is helping with the coldness.

I am cold also- but the weather here in upper Michigan in -30 with wind chill for the past three days! Lol! -7 without wind chill!

It's -23 in western PA with wins chill too. UGH!
