As for stalls yep I hit them ALOT now. I'm at 157 and will go up to 158.8. So I know what you mean about stalls. But to tell you the truth, I'm perfectly happy with my size right now. Although I'm half way between a size 12 and 10 pant so I need to get into that 10. Dress size is 6 or 8. I'm very content. Very happy and I only hop on the scale maybe 1 time a week. I'm not letting that scale not moving get to me. I'm just so happy to have been given another chance at a healthy life.

Ok so i am sure with the weather changes some of you have gotten colds or sinus problems what are yall taking for it? I have a sore throat and feel sinus pressure. Not sure what to take. I dont like the tylenol products because of the damage it does to your liver. So not sure what to do. Any advice?

Haven't been on in a while but wanted to see how everyone was doing. Nicole' date=' you look awesome and I'm so glad to see your progress. I haven't wanted to discourage anyone as my progress has not been as hoped and I just gave up. I stalled shortly after surgery and despite doing everything I was told by nut and dr, the scale has never changed. Finally a month or so ago I decided to eat what I wanted to see what would happen and still no change. I am certainly eating healthier-not gaining/not losing. Dr. Says everything seems fine. Bloodwork was normal except for a need for more Iron. I have thought about trying the pre-op diet for a couple of weeks but haven't talked myself into it yet. Not sure it would do any good but I did lose preop. I'm not sure I would do this again as I am only 10 lbs less than I was with the band. The one positive is I'm not gaining and without the band(which had to come out) or bypass I would be gaining. Unfortunately, not enough weight loss to avoid diabetic meds which was a driving reason for doing it. That is most difficult part of all. I do enjoy hearing about your successes and your pics really do show the differences. Keep up your good work![/quote']

First off, thank you! My transformation is so surreal. I know my clothing size has changed but I don't see it in the mirror. Only side by side pictures.

Secondly, I hope you don't give up! You've come a long way and your goal is to get rid of diabetes meds. Are you exercising at all. I never never exercised prior to surgery. Now I go 5 days a week. Nothing crazy. A little cardio and some weight machines 2 days a week. I had a 2 days to the gym the last few weeks and it shows in the scale. So I really feel exercise has helped my weight loss tremendously.

We are still here to chat if you need support.

Nicole

Hiiiiii everyone!!! I haven't been on in for.ev.er! One major reason is because I ran out of room on my phone and had to delete the app! lol Time to upgrade. I came on today because I'm stalled and depressed because of it. But then I went to update my ticker and realized how far I've come.

I need to get back on track with eating.... I'm uncomfortable with the selection I can now eat. I kind of miss the days when everything made me sick! Never thought I'd say that.

You all look FANTASTIC!!!! Let me go find a recent pic of myself to share.

Welcome back. Yes the selection is much greater. There probably is a lot of stuff that I could eat but haven't tried. It is difficult once in a while not trying a food I used to love, but I force it out of my head. It isn't easy but I do it. Are you working out? I noticed that working out helps a great deal too.

I was on the way to my BF house Sunday and was running late. Of course was I going a little over the speed limit (8mph) and got pulled over. I gave the county boy my drivers license. He said this doesn't look like you. I said I've lost a lot of weight. So I gave him another form of ID which still doesn't look like me. He made me repeat my birthdate a few times. Had me sign my name. When all was said and done, he said well if you want I can write a ticket but I will just let you go with a warning. That's a no brainier. So I didn't get a ticket. However I thinks it's time to get a new drivers license. LOL

I got pulled over last week for running a stop sign. I thought he was going to second guess my ID but said nothing. Got a warning but I need to change picture on license as well. That's weird he wouldn't believe you at first.

I literally had to sign my name. That is how different I look. My IDs look nothing like me now.

Ok, these darn antibiotics every other week due to infections since the hysterectomy has finally caught up with me. I have C. Diff. Would like to know if anyone on here has experienced it so I'm more prepared.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
