I guess we all need to be more careful about how we are feeling and what current medications we take. Having too much medication on board can certainly wreak havoc on our recovery and have nothing to do with the actual surgery . Hmmmm...more to think about! It doesn't take a lot of weight loss for medications to be decreased.

Ooh no, I hope it goes fast. My first lastest 30 minutes of feeling yucky I didn't actually have a BM, just felt horrible, sick, sweaty, like I had to vomit, horrible experience... then it stopped. I hope yours is as fast or faster. I haven't tried Chx Breast, maybe I won't, lol.

I thought I would make a nice dinner for my daughter and I, my body rejects it. I got down almost an ounce of the chicken when I started feeling it. I think it's pretty much over now. Thank goodness. That sux!!!

So I talked to the bride as suggested and it didn't go bad like I thought. So now....the question....I am a size 18 right now, size 20 dress. The wedding is 8 months away and the dresses are being ordered in 2 months since she has 6 bridesmaids and the store said we had to, to get them in time. So, I hope to be a 16 (18 dress) in 2 months, but still when ordering I will be 6 months before the wedding, not sure what to do. The dress, per the store, can go in 2 sizes without looking much different, it can go up 1 size only. More than that depends on the dress. Thoughts?? Do I dare order a size down, so maybe a 16 dress (14), since dresses run about 1-2 size smaller than clothing. That would mean I would have to be about 200 pounds to be in a 14 at my height/body structure.

I had pills stuck in stricture, hiatal hernia, ulcer and esophagitis. EGD is done but now I'm throwing up some blood and it feels like something is stuck in my throat.

Day 2 of back to work and today I am 2 weeks post op! Yeah! Work is fine, but coaching my girls is hard. We are mid season (basketball) and I had practice yesterday and a game today. I am pooped. It's 8:30 and I am about to go to bed! Teaching has been fine except or loosing my loud teacher voice. I have to hold my side when I need to talk over 30 plus middle schoolers! And coaching... Well I was not as animated as I normally am on he side lines. Ref missed a call... Oh well, I can't yell at him cause it hurts! We won anyway! Yeah! Now I'm going to bed. Thank God in Heaven for weekends. One more day of work and no ball practice,

I have my first post op tomorrow, looking forward to hearing docs take on my progress.

Good night, ya'll? ( Yes.. I'm from NC)

I have or had hiatal hernia, not sure if it was fixed w the surgery. Need to ask Dr. Esophagitis too :-( The hiatal hernia causes reflux which caused the esophagitis. Thats what happened w me. Are you at the hospital still? I hope so. What did they say about the blood? I hope you'll be ok soon, thoughts are w you.

Wow! So much news today. Jodi and simply hope you ladies get to feeling better super quick. Lisa finding out is half the battle, now on to the cure. Gen- terrified of my first dumping. Talked to my doc today, wow how I love him! Wonder if he's single ;) lol he said 2-4 ounces of anything I want per hour, more if I can handle it, but I don't want to over do anything. He also said not to worry about Protein just yet, but make sure I'm throwing a Protein Shake in there. So far so good. Starting to feel better than the hell that I was. So happy to have you guys to turn to! Bless us all!!

Snow.... I'm glad your day was better! I just talked to my boss today because I wanted to go back to work Tuesday. Since I don't have my follow up until Thursday next week, he won't let me come back until then. I was really looking forward to going back Monday!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
