This happened to me about 5 weeks out. I was stuck for two weeks. It made me an emotional wreck. I finally called the nurse and my dr office. Then, almost immediately, I started losing again. I promise it will happen.

I was feeling stressed and over whelmed so I went to see my surgeon and they said I had food remorse not being able to eat like I use to. They suggested I see my therapist

Good luck and god bless

Well I'm starting to actually feel hungry and it sucks. I'm barely losing 1 pound a week and I do not want to eat more food. I'm really thinking about going back to all liquids.

Trust me cooksie I know how you feel. I'm only 5 weeks out and down 36. My dr says I'm a lite weight and that ill lose slower then others starting weight 277. However when was the last time I lost 36 in give weeks never. Just continue following what the dr says and it will come off. You are successful keep up the great job. This process is frustrating at times but it will be well worth it. Stalls suck nothing else to say about that but frustrating irritating just drives us nuts. But we all go through it and then it will restart again . Keep the faith

I feel like a failure A LOT!! but everyone says that we can't expect results overnight.

i agree my doctor often joked that most of his patients get discouraged if the weight doesnt come off fast enough he wld say hes not a musician lol they gave us the right tooks we still just have to figure out how to use them;)

Remember, the heavier you are the more and faster you will lose. As you get thinner, your body will slow the loss as it adjusts and you no longer burn or need as many calories carrying around a heavier body. Sometimes the body needs time to adjust, too. With this tool you will lose and more importantly, won't be yo-yoing like most of us have done. Be strong and have faith.

It doesnt matter how much we lose or how fast as long as we are losing and not going uphill

Frustrating as they are, stalls are part of the process for almost everyone. Follow the protocol as closely as you possibly can, stay active, and stay away from the scales for at least a week and two would be even better. Trust the process and allow your body to find its own way in its own time. There is absolutely no doubt that you will lose weight and you're gonna love the new you!!

I know how u feel my period just came on and I promised myself I wasn't going to weigh myself until it goes off cause when I get it my weight goes up or stays the same and I'm not setting myself down that negative path.

If you are doing the right things and your Dr is not worried then you are probably just in a plateau. Sometimes we just need to sit back and enjoy the lbs we have lost i guess ;) Best of luck! I know I will be in your shoes at some point because it is just a part of this journey. Stalling is NOT failing :)

No need to feel like a failure. It will happen. I wish my weight loss would slow down. I've lost 40 pounds since my surgery 2 weeks ago. I've had nothing but issues. Dehydration is my biggest issue that I believe I am finally getting under control. I'm just taking it day by day and keeping in close contact with my doctor.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
