One Year Later...Not A Success Story

Recommended Posts

Boy, can I relate to you guys.....

I am closely approaching my One Year Bandiversary on 02/28. At one time I had lost 35 lbs and was doing great. Then I suffered a torn meniscus in my left knee. It "gave way" on me more and more frequently so I decided to have surgery to repair. That was back in October and my knee feels worse than before the surgery. On top of that, my right knee is bothering me because of the extra stress of doing "double duty" while my left knee healed. Now I can hardly walk at all and when I do, it is very painful. I am back to my original starting weight and fear it will only go higher.

Although lack of exercise is the excuse I give the public, the other hidden excuse is that I have become very depressed and am making all the wrong food choices. I am at the point of deep despair and am so tempted to just give up.

I am sorry for sabotaging your thread. Thanks for listening anyway.

Good idea.Warm liquids for the day and mushies when it calms down.

Thank you!

Mary and Jack:Thanks for your support. With restriction it has shocked me how hard it is for food to go down. It was so easy before!

Boo-Boo Kitty: No, I should go to my support group, but it's an hour away. But I will start I think. Although the board is great, I think I need to add that in.

I think once you find the right group with the right people it will be worth the drive! While I agree the boards are great you need people closer sometimes!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
