Chinese Food

Has any one tried chinese food? I have been craving it now for a couple of weeks, but i'm not sure it's doable and if it is what to get. I'm sure the Sweet and Sour items are out. I'm 14 weeks out from my surgery. If any one has any ideas I would appreciate it.

I've eaten it on several occasions. Just really small portions compared to before surgery.

I've had Chinese!! I could eat inside of egg roll, any of their Soup, steamed veggies, a little of any meat that is not coved in fried bread. I can eat 1 or 2 rolls of shushi.

You can eat Sushi! that makes me happy - I loooooove sushi, I was thinking I would have to give it up completely (or only have sashimi without the rice) and also yay Chinese!... I hope I can eat noodles at some point...

Rice doesn't work for me well, even now. Some can eat raw fish, some get sick with the shortened intestines. I can do a few pieces of sashimi with only one piece of a roll that has rice.

Idk how far out you are but I'm almost 4 months and rice is still a no go. It makes me so sick. Id say stick with sashimi... Something mild.

Yeah I can only eat one sushi roll with rice. I can not eat any noodles at all.

I ate shrimp with veggies and the inside of one pot sticker. It sat ok. No rice though.

What does rice do to you guys? I've eaten it.

Rice is full of carbs. We have a saying at group support it goes ( if it's white it's not right) white bread, white rice, potatos, Pasta. All bad for you to many carbs and your body will stop breaking down Fat and just work on breaking down carbs that take so much longer to break down. It's better to work on getting in Protein and veggies.

As for Chinese I love it and have had it 1 time since surgery 13 weeks ago it was fabulous all 2 oz of it. The only bad part was it was so sweet it raised my blood sugars really high

It sits in the stomach and doesnt pass well. Feels like a rock- and will even swell if you add Fluid.

Oh my. It didn't bother me. I didn't eat much of it.

Thank you everyone. I will probably stay away from the rice. I don't think I will be trying Sushi. Tried it once a few years ago and didn't care for it. Everyone has giving me hope that there are a few things I could try.
