What is the name of that one you posted about

Atkins chocolate chip granola Protein bars are a great choice for gastric bypass patients.( from what I'm told) They provide 200 calories and 17 grams of Protein. Unlike many Protein Bars, which are high in sugar, these have only one gram of sugar.

Maybe others on the Fourm can suggest some other ones.

I Belive there was a post or somebody said something about Protein Bars but could not find it.

What about granola bars have not checked in to them and don't know if we can eat them.???

Think granola has too much sugar and not enough protien (educated guess only)

Have you tried this?

8oz skim milk

1 pckg Carnation Instant Breakfast the kind in the blue box

2 heaping TBLSP powdered milk

Stir really really well to mix up the powdered milk and there you have it!

20 gm of Protein total.

What about Quest bars??? Any reviews

There are a couple of posts about the Quest bars. They are the absolute best !! High Protein, high Fiber, low sugar, no fat and they taste great !

My personal favorites are the cinnamon roll, the coconut cashew and the lemon cream pie !!! Yummmmmm. And I am very picky !!!

I use "pure protein" Protein bars. Low in sugar and fat and pack about 18-20 grams of Protein per bat. Ask DLCOGGIN (hope I spelled his name right)...he's the go to guy on here as far as protein. I call him the protein guru. He will get u on the right path. A lot of protein bars are high in fat or high in sugar. Make sure you read your labels.

I like the Pure Protein bars as well with the Frosty chocolate being my hands down favorite. 200 cals and 20g of protein and I think delicious. Their bars come in a number of different sizes all the way up to a whopping 78g of protein. That said, I have never tried the Quest bars but am planning on doing so given the almost unanimous raves about them! Does anyone have an recommendations for the best place(s) to buy them? Pricing on a lot of these supplements can vary widely from on place to another.

Panda you spelled my name perfectly and thank you for the kind words!!

I bought the Quest brownie bars in North Dartmouth and love them. I'll have to try a few others. I agree with DL on the Pure Protein ones as well. I like the Peanut Butter and chocolate chip ones. The chocolate ones are good if you like dark chocolate flavor. I'm a milk chocolate flavor girl so skip those but, hubby likes them alot.

You can get your Quest bars online as well. I don't believe we're suppose to post links to other websites though....you can google them :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
