So' date=' I guess doing it on your own is doable, just sucky? I could get one of this grabby claw things...[/quote']

I went through the op alone and stayed 4 days in hospital. Coming home to 3 screaming kids, a loud husband and dogs barking was quite over whelming for me. Couldnt handle the noise or the presure of "not" doing anything. I would have much prefered to come home to a quiet house. Im a week post op. walk around ok, shower alone but cant bend down to pick things up.

I think it would be ok to belone if you had someone pop in twice a day, support via telephone/ or interent and that you operatioin went well and easy. Ask you doctor too for his advice

Good look.… and the grabby claw is a good fun option!

It's doable. For sure. I had help but mostly my husband just listened to me whine.

My BF stayed with me for 2 days after I came home. I had surgery on a Monday and was back to work the following Monday. I did really well during recovery.

Wow, That was fast! What did you do to recover so fast? I need to bounce back just like you did, please share.

I sure hope that it's doable, because I will be doing it sole...I could tell friends or family but I really rather not.

I just had surgery Thursday 3/21/13. Home today trying to get medication and Water and shake routine together. NOT EASY I am afraid I am not going to do something right and I'm looking a little nervous. Unless there is someone going with it with you face it you are alone. THEY CAN EAT NORMALY.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
