I am at the phyc eval. Any advise? I'm nervous I may say the wrong thing and she says I can't have surgery.

Am I stressing for no reason? I just heard via youtube that if they think you can lose the weight yourself (no matter if it's possible or not) that they fail you. I worked really hard throughout this whole process and am determined to do all the lifestyle changes that my new life require. I just need the surgery to act as that tool that I need for the push and headstart. I just pray I don't screw it all up tommorow. Yall pray for me please.

I had a great experience for my psych eval. The purpose is not to fail you, but to make sure you are of sound mind to make this life altering decision, and that you understand the risks and how you are supposed to eat and exercise for the rest of your life. They know we all have issues, so don't try to cover them up. Just be honest and you will be fine! Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the great advise. I will just go in there not hiding anything and let her feel my atrong resolve for a new life and my determination. Thanks. Where are you at past your surgery? How long?

I did exactly the same thing. I showed her I had done extensive research, had been attending support groups, and fully understood what I am doing and what I will need to do. I also was very clear about my triggers and what I know my challenges will be to overcome them. We can all lose weight; been doing it for years. For me, WLS is one tool I need to help keep it off. BTW, I'm still pre-op. My surgery date is September 10.

Thanks for all your help. Mine should be early October. Are you scared, just a little? I'm not, yet.

Welcome Leslie I hope you get your surgery date. when will they let you know? I hadmy EKG and c X-ray yesterday unfortunately my heart is now acting up so I am seeing my cardiologist tomarrow and he may put me in the hospital for a cardioversion and or change my medication. Wish me luck!

Good luck, Rachel! I hope you don 't have anymore setbacks. I know it gets overwhelming. I start beating myself up and have to stop and remind myself I'm going through all this to better myself. You'll get through all this!

Good luck! Hopefully this surgery will be the beginning of the end of too much time in the hospital! Get ready for good times. Too bad we have to go through all this crap first.
