I hope you get better really soon. I'll be praying for you. Try to move around, walk as much as you can. Like after each nap make it a point to walk longer each time.

I had laparoscopic both times.

I hope this is not a stupid question, but why 2 times? Any tips to avoid having it twice?

I had RNY in 2004.... Lost 130 lbs. started gaining back 3 yrs ago partly due to taking on bad habits and not following the rules. (drinking, bad food choices and no exercise). I gained back 80lbs. Was able to eat a full meal again. Felt like a failure that I had worked so hard initially and let it all go. The stoma to intestine stretched out so food emptied very quickly so I felt hungry right away. (they didn't use the little band back in 2004 to keep that opening small). Had a revision where they put the band in and fixed a pocket that had been formed in my intestines. I'm 1 month post op and down 20lbs. It will be slower for me as my body has adjusted to the malnutrition already so I will have to work very hard this time. But this IS the last time. I'm going to make it and make it last!

Wow! Sounds like you really got control now. I'm sure you will achieve your goals. It's amazing you didn't just give up. It is very brave of you. Best of luck!

You sound so knowledgeable. I wish I had someone like you to serve as a mentor. This is so new to me. My friends are mostly skinny and most think I'm crazy for choosing this and not doing it the natural way.

Yup it's always easy for anyone to make judgment and talk from ignorance when they don't even know the battle n trenches we have endured.

What people refuse to realize is that Obesity is just like any other medical disease out there.

I agree. I also think, there is no easy way. This surgery is tough. Many sacrifices and lots of will power. That takes a strong person. I'm still going to work out and eat less. I just need a jump start!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
