My daughter has PCOS. I can sympathize from the caregiver standpoint. She had the band a year ago and had we known, we would have chosen better. She is going to have a revision to the bypass and I am hoping, as you are, that it helps! My daughter can't take it much more either!

I have PCOS and I have my initial visit with the dietitian at my surgeons office Mar 5 and decided on the gastric bypass vs the sleeve because of the PCOS. My symptoms are not that bad right now. I have the Hair growth on the face and chest, and weight gain. Has anyone of you ladies noticed alot of weightloss since surgery? My biggest fear is getting the surgery only to discover that the weight is coming off really slow

I have PCOS and am 4 weeks post op. I am down 29 pounds since the day of surgery. I think that is slow, but it falls well into the normal range. I have been through 3 rounds of unsuccessful fertility treatments and have a persistent (like for at least 5 years) cyst on my left ovary that is causing most of my issues. It is almost the size of my whole ovary and has been the source of so much discomfort. My periods have always been super awful, heavy, and painful. I was hoping surgery was going to resolve it all right away but my cycle is completely out of whack. I hope in the next couple of months, things settle down and I can start to have normal cycles again.

Pcos I hate you , but thanks to the surgery I finally had the dreaded tom and boy did I hate it but I know it is a must after going 2 years , 4 years and 6 years at a time with no monthly visitor, weight gain, hormones up and down, steroids, birth control nothing worked I hope this works I'm 43 days post op..omg cramps and paranoia of is there a stain ,can you see my pad I hate it but glad it came finally now I hope it regulates bc I can't stand this pcos Bs ... Now to see if this pcos real will leave is to get pregnant in a year or two and see my hair go back to thick versus thin and lose the extra hairs lol ....I wish everyone luck with their pcos I'm 26 now and can't wait to see what wls has in store btw I'm down 42 lbs .... • i have pcos.

oi joi.

it seems like it is one of many problems, so i haven't focused on it much. but yeah i have hair growth at weird places ;-(

does it get better after the op?

i am one week away from my op.

does losing the weight not help one to fall pregnant?

when I am a healthy weight we really want to try for a baby.

since i was a child i had horrible periods, very painful. even to the point of fainting.

really bad.

i started picking up weight after i started menstruating at the age of 12. so i believe a big part of my weight issues has to do with my hormones. as I was a thin and active child. the problems started with the periods.

any advice would be greatly appreciated. i am currently 30 years old.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
