How exciting' date=' good luck to you everything will be for god willing. I still can't believe that I'm just a day away from my surgery. The hospital called me yesterday to confirm the surgery time and as I'm speaking to the nurse I had to pinch myself to believe that this is so real. This change that will come to my life I know it's a lot of work and dedication but I'm ready for it.

Surgery date Monday Feb4, 2013 that will be a date that I will never forget. :) good luck to you again. And hope to stay in touch, this forum have really helped me a lot and have answer many of my questions. Thanks to all of you guys for sharing your experiences with all of us here. :)[/quote']

Good luck tomorrow Iwill pray for your speedy recovery.

No not yet not sure if he is back from super bowl but I did talk to my mom yesterday I told her I was havin surgery for gallstones because last yr when I was telling her I was considering the bypass surgery she talked me out of it saying u don't need it UR not that big n I can just back up from the table etc. Well I lied bout the kind of surgery this go round n she did tell me she'd b there to help me with the kids so I'm very much happy n excited. Yesterday my job approved my request for Advanced sick lve n the surgeons office contacted me that my surgery time has moved up from 1030 to 830am on March 1. My bag is already packed n I packed my kids back up already too. I ordered more Celebrate calicum chews n the ens Protein mix yesterday as we'll. Just got to buy some chicken broth n sugar free Jello to start my week of liquids on the 22nd

They have to, it's HIPPA, law. You can specifically say they may only speak to you and put a notice on your chart and on their patient board that's usually by nurses station. I have similar stipulations and two people named as my healthcare agents for advance directive purposes, in case of emergency issues ( hubby & mom).

Just state it and repeat it. When you show you you have knowledge and are serious they will take notice ( nurses and docs), whereas sometimes they ignore people.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
