What are the doctors saying??

The Dr said that the stricture is healed as well as the ulcer. He said he thinks it may be something psychological why I can't eat. Like because I recall how horrible it was with the stricture and ulcer so my mind is telling me I can't eat when I really can....BULLSHIT! I seriously can't eat. Well actually last night my daughter had a tossed salad and I ate 3 teeny tiny bites of lettuce and it stayed down. I know that doesn't seem like much but its a lot for me. Thanks for your concern

OMG! I feel so bad for you girl. I hope your nightmare will soon end. That's horrible the doctor thinking it's in your mind not eating. I went threw about 2 days of not being hungry that wasn't on my mind. I'm on liquid diet, but with only being able to take 2 oz liquid at a time how I'm going manage it. I understand how you feel. What maybe easy for some people isn't for others. After I been home I only took pain meds once and that was yesterday. Some ppl never need pain meds others do. Everyone body is different so just try to be strong, and god is watching over you. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Praying & sending you a big hug.

I had the same problem, but mine healed on the second trip, sorry to hear you've had more. You'll be ok soon if it stays open. I stayed on the puréed foods for a few weeks after the last one, until I was ready for solids. Yeah, looking back I owe the doctor an apology for my own 'THAT'S BULLSHIT!!' response to the 'food aversion'. How twisted is it that the food that once comforted now is painful?

Bananas and fish where my first solids, then things started moving along. salad is a huge first step, congrats!

Long term? Well, It's been four years, 3 1/2 since the last 'stretch', occationally I get something stuck but it's not often enough or painful enough (the ulcer was the worse) to go back for another stretch. Remember to chew a lot, when I eat fast things stick.

You're on the way back to 'normal' or our RNY way of eating, your attitude is too positive not to make it!

Cutiepie....I've been taking baby steps....no I told my hubby absolutely not. He will just have to try another method. I wouldn't subject him to what I've been through. Thanks for your prayers

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
