Feeling Lonely And Discouraged :/

Recommended Posts

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Being sick and being house bound is enough to make one want to pull their hair out or at least it does for me. Feel free to text me anytime. 816-305-5145. I'll be praying for you.

First off' date=' I will never regret getting this surgery. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

However, this pneumonia and abcess in my stomach have sure got me feeling down. :/ I've developed high anxiety due to this because I have nightmares of what else could go wrong. The picc line creeps me out even though I know its making me better. (a picc line is a long IV that goes to my heart and pumps antibiotics)

I have become more religious and I pray alot and I find that it does help. I try not to think "why me" but I cant help it sometimes. Im young and was told that my chance of complications was very low. So of course this is discouraging. And I get cabin fever cause Im home all the time. Even when I do errands with my mom I get self concious because I have to carry around the bag with the pump that has the wire coming out of my arm. ugh. I swear this isnt a pity party. Im just wondering if anyone else had complications that got them down? And what did you do about it?

Sorry to rant but I feel this is the only place where people will understand and not judge me.

Btw, would anyone want to be texting buddies? Ya know for immediate advice or someone to talk to? Im couped up in the house all day. Id love someone to talk to. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Laurel,

First off, I hope you know you are not alone in this journey. So many others, including myself, have had serious complications even though we were to "chances of complications are ver low, if none".

After my surgery I had an infection in the incision where they insert the tool to "staple" and section off the stomach. My husband had to clean and pack my infected wound 3-times a day for four months. It wasn't pleasant for either of us, but we made it through.

I also had heart problems and was back in the hospital twice. I had to wear a heart monitor after I was released for several weeks and felt like a freak being out in public hauling around the contraption. The only person you need to worry about is YOU. who cares if people look at you. You are a beautiful person inside and out, and the people you see while out you will probably never see them again. Look them straight in the eye and smile. I bet they look away first and they feel conscious that they were "caught" being rude.

God has a plan for all of us. I wasn't much of a believer before my surgery, however, as I walk through life, I know that there is a reason for every trial in life. You (and all bariatric patients) have periods when they wonder "why". It's not a pity party, it is being realistic given all you have been through. You will see the light at the end of the journey. Some days it just plain stinks, but after 24-hours you get a new day, and if it brings one new smile, or less pain, then you can put the bad days and memories aside. God never gives us more than we can handle and you will overcome this hurdle and move on to something better.

I hope you feel better soon. One day at a time - it does get better...I promise ????

You are in my prayers,

Ragdolls2

PS: When I got bored sitting at home, I learned how to crochet and started making blankets for preemies in the hospital. I also made some for children in daycare for their nap time on the mats/floor. There is no better feeling than giving something of yourself to others!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
