Hello everyone:

Just want to share that today is my 6day of pre-op liquid diet and I just had an emotional/devil moment. I just started crying and couldn't stop for a while, I'm not hungry at all b/c the shakes fill me up good but seeing my family eating food and knowing that the time is getting close I guess made me broke down.

I'm not gonna lie I'm missing eating real food, I'm scare I might cheat. I need advice, what else can I consume other than my Protein shake, sugar free Jello, sugar free Popsicles or broth? What can happen if I cheat and eat regular food?

Thanks in advantage!

Well today is my 7day of pre-op liquid diet and I'm feeling a better, weight myself and I had lost 12lbs since I started. I been following this diet very strictly so I guess the effort is paying off...still battle w/the desire of eating food and it's so hard but YES we CAN!!!

I read on some of those WLS forums that somebody was allow to eat one regular meal a day that mostly included veggies, I was like what?!?!?!?! So anyways I will continue doing what my surgeon told me to do so....

My surgery is April 2, 2012 and I can't wait...Good luck to you and keep in touch ;D

I'm kinda scared of this pre op liquid diet. I've had to stop taking my hormones already and next is my arthritis medication. Hopefully all these changes don't make me a crazy lady!

I think every1 freaks out at one point during the liquid diet b cuz we all love food...if u slip...get back on track n tell ur self that this hardest part...u r conditioning urself for the future...after surgery u will heal n it will be fine...u will b able to eat with family n friends like normal buy obviously with smaller portions...u will b ok...it will all b worth it on the long run...we r stronger than we give ourselves credit for.. if u endure years of all the "crap" that come from being obese u r strong enuff to get thru this...hang in there!

Hello CocoHuny

Wow really! No pre-op years ago! Well my surgeon put me on a 2wks liquid diet and it haven't been easy but I'm almost seeig the light at the end of the tunnel...is not easy because my stomach is on regular size but I had faith that this same liquid diet w/the RNY pouch must be a cake w/the only exception that I will basicly have to push the liquids down to get my Protein :)

Being on the liquid diet before the surgery helps shrink your liver so the surgeon can move it out of the way easier for the surgery plus it helps keep our intenstines cleaner for the surgery. It's certainly not the easiest thing to do but, you can do it! Just think in a few weeks you'll be on the losing side of surgery :)

Sorry it has been a while since I've been on but I moved n have had a lot going on. Anyhow, I am 5 months out n have lost 95 pounds so far. I have another 15 to go. It seemed slow but as I look back it seems fast. I have so loose skin in my arms, thighs n stomach but the worse is my breast. I feel good for the most part. I don't have the strong urges for food anymore. Eating is not pleasurable for me anymore its more a task to stay healthy. Rarely do I eat something and really enjoy it :( but I don't regret doing this. I wish u the best n hang in there...it is all worth it :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
