Congratulations to u and ur doing good so far on ur journey

Thank you! I don't feel like I'm doing particularly great, so some encouragement was nice to hear! Lol. I got down to about 308 before they gave me the date to go on my 2 week liquid diet and then I went on eat-a-palooza and gained about 10 pounds back. It was over Thanksgiving. :( Lol. They say that's a normal reaction but dammit!

Sounds like you might be burning more calories than you are taking in.. Working out 2-1/2 hours per day, and eating what's on the Dr. list? I think your exercising too much.. (Funny to hear that, huh?)

That's my guess.

Call your surgeon & get his/her opinion. I was told to 'walk' after surgery... That was it, 30 min per day.

My weight loss came to a halt when I wasn't taking in enough Protein & Water. I'm still working on that..

Dawn

Ge'ee! Thanks, I was giving on any replies.... I've not tried much protien, and last night I made myself drink about a galion, as found out my body wanted more Water than I've been thinking I needed.

If one can help please feel free to share.

I was 276.4' date=' before surgery, now I'm 262.2, it's crazy how slow my weight is coming off, so I'm starting to get a little discouraged, but my doctor says everything is fine. I just got my first adjustment dec7,2012. Hopefully more weight will come off now. I havent told my family about my surgery, Only my husband because I didn't need any discouraging people in my life. It's not that you're hiding anything, it's just that you are doing the best that you can for you, this is about you, your health, your body!:):)[/quote']

I understand only my immediate family knows no one else. None of their business.

Hi guys... I too have over 100 lbs to loose. Pats on the back to al of us who have lost.... I am 5'7" and had my surgery 02/21/12. My starting weight was 340 and I am now at 247.... So 93 lbs gone. Discouraging sometimes because the weight I am now is the weight some people are starting at.... But I'm fighting the good fight as you all are. I'm thankful everyday that I am on this journey...this is a great thread to start!!!

Hey don't be discouraged! Some people are short! Look at how much weight you've lost and be PROUD - you should be!

I got a surprise yesterday. My doctor had a cancellation and instead of surgery on 2/25/13, my pre-op is 12/26/12 with surgery on 1/4/13! I will soon be counting down with the rest of you!

I had my RNY 11/21/12 and started at 361 LBS. Today I am at 280 lbs.... I still have a looonnng road ahead of me. The weightloss has slowed down quite a lot for me. Has anyone tried the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury flavorless potein? I need to get a lot more Protein supplement in.... I'm tired of the chunky siper thick chalky chocolate drinks....

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
