I had gastric bypass in October, 2013 and started at 409 pounds. I'm now 150 and am having my arms done 12/22. I'm so excited but nervous. I feel great! post-262350-14499497717274_thumb.jpg

One year today on December 15, 2014, I was given a new life and a second chance to live my life to the fullest instead of letting it pass me by. I want to wish myself a Happy One Year Anniversary on my weight loss journey! I may not have hit my goal of losing 200lbs by today, but I am proud of the 185lbs that I have lost. Plus, I know that I will get pass this stall and hit my goal of 239 very soon. This journey has had its ups and downs but it is worth it, so I can live to grow old with my husband and see our kids grow up and have a family of their own. I have to thank my family and friends for all the love and support they have given me while I have been on this journey. It is just the beginning for me and my family, as we all start to really enjoy life and all that it has to offer.

9 months and 96 pounds lost. I can hardly believe it. Finally eating healthier and burning 300-900 calories at the gym 3 times a week is actually working and it only took having a little surgery. ;-)

What a difference a year makes! Before was New Year's Eve 2014, my surgery was January 15, 2015 and what I look like now. The amazing part of this journey of discovery is that I know and believe I'm amazing in both pics, but I am kinda feeling myself on the after pic! One of the best ways I've chosen to take care of myself! HW:275, SW: 256, CW: 172

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
