I am still unable to stomach the Protein shakes/powders...I have tried making pudding with it, I have tried putting the unflavored in Soup, etc...I ordered a hot chocolate Protein Drink yesterday so I will try that. Any other suggestions?? I know I need it and I'm only able to eat about 20-30 grams a day. HELP!!!

I am pre-op so by no means know what I am saying, but other forums have talked about Isopure and other Protein waters. My Nut suggests cutting the sweetness with plain yogurt. Good luck and keep us posted on what works.

I'm not sure how far you are past surgery, so some of these may not apply to you depending on your dietary guidelines.

Skim milk with powdered milk added to it for extra Protein.

Yogurt

Scrambled eggs

Cottage cheese

Cream Soups with powered milk added

Thank you, thank you for the ideas!!

I am 4 1/2 weeks out and can definitely do powdered milk in my milk! I NEVER would have thought of that! Excellent! I do eat eggs, cheese, meat. I honestly cannot tolerate any Protein Drinks and the Protein Bars are all too sweet AND loaded with carbs! I'm not a carb fanatic but 40 grams in One Bar OMG! Not happening.

The best so far, I have it everyday is Syntrax nectar Capaccino, it is amazing. I add milk, coffee, and ice and blend.

I bought the nectar Capp after hearing all the positive reviews. I thought it was disgusting at first. However, after reading on the website that the Nectars were designed to be able to eat them plain, it's my favorite thing to have at night. I have a scoop, eat it with a spoon, and it's my nightly dessert. The other ones are great this way too. It helped me a lot with the too sweet powders. I couldn't stomach them in liquid, but plain they are great.

I also want to suggest that if you haven't tried ISOPure that you should. I didn't like the taste much, but it is formulated in a different way than all the other Protein shakes, so it should be worth a try.

Have you looked at the Protein Bar made by Zone? They aren't so sweet! I had one presurgery and it was good... I don't know the carb count but I know 2 sleevers that use them!

Hang in there. It gets better. I am 13 weeks post op and after many trys I found that Premier Protein shakes were my salvation. I also drank Isopure in my first few weeks post op. Don't stress too much, as your stomach heals and you are able to eat more solid Protein, it will get easier. I still drink a premier shake daily to ensure that I get in my daily requirements. Best of luck.

Can you elaborate on what you mean when you say that you cannot tolerate them. Do they just taste bad to you, do they upset your stomach, or exactly what happens?

Makes me nauseous and if I keep drinking, throw up

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
