When were you sleeved? This is a very normal side effect of rapid weight loss. I started losing around month 6 and it continued for about 3 months. It will grow back, have no fear.

Search the site for hair loss. It is a very popular topic.

Many will suggest shampoos or tell you to increase Protein. For me, I was meeting all my Protein numbers, taking Vitamins, exercising, taking Biotin ... doing everything suggested and I still lost hair. Some people don't lose, but I believe they are quite the minority and have the genetics most don't.

If it gets too bad, wigs are a great option! This too, shall pass.

I'm 4 months post op. It just started to get rely bad this week. And I'm a hair stylist so I CANNOT loose a lot of hair. Gotta look good at the job you know?

I'm a hairdresser as well and I have the same fears. I'm about 3 weeks out. I'm taking extra Biotin just in case.

I too am a hair stylist, and I have been loosing my hair for about 4 months. I even had to cut my hair short because I thought it would lessen the loss. I am going to try Biotin 5000mg. I'm not to sure Nioxin will help stop it. The worst part for me is I am afraid to color my hair, because I'm afraid it will just all fall out.

It might! That's when I have noticed it the most. When I colored my hair, and I even used a Demi permanent color, when I rinsed it out it was coming out in little clumps!! :( it seriously made me cry

I'm 10 months out and mine is starting to grow back. I cut it short. It looks like it coming back pretty thick. Like others have said. I take Biotin, eat Protein. It will grow back just give it time.

Are you getting your Protein in? Lack of enough protein can cause Hair loss. I haven't had this problem, but all my reading says that protein is essential to maintain muscle and hair. I use Unjury protein, which is vey high quality and tastes the best of all the bariatric protein powders I've tried.

I'm 9 months post op and my hair continues to fall. My doctor said its from not getting enough Protein. It goes through stages where it's not a lot to a bunch of hair falling out, when its a lot of hair I know I have to up my protein and then it stops. Also I take Biotin 5,000 mcg.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
