How long was everyone out of work?

Recommended Posts

I had surgery Friday at noon and went back on the Tuesday. It wasnt too bad, I was sore and exhausted that night but still managed to finish out the week. I also had my lap band of 6 years removed at the same time, the only place Iv had pain has been where they removed my port.

I was off for 9 days total only missed 4 days of work because of shift work left the hospital with no restrictions. My doctor told me if no complications he only gives 10 days out for any of his wls surgery s. I would suggest to start walking and moving a lot more it helps the healing. Good luck on your journey.

Surgery Friday and back to work on Monday. I would suggest walking as much as possible in the hospital post surgery. I believe that helped the most in the early days of recovery.

I think it just depends on what you do for a living. I'm a hairdresser and I took 2 and a half weeks. I felt great when I got back. Occasional back pain when I work too long without a break, but nothing I can't handle.

Did you feel like you needed 5 weeks or did you just want more time?

My doc is telling me 6 weeks and since I'll get paid 100% while on short term disability, I'm taking the time off. I figure this will give me the chance to get used to my new eating and allow me to spend time with my kids. I work long hours normally.

My surgery is scheduled for November 25th and I am taking six weeks off. Since I am getting paid 100% I figured why not.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
