Hello, everyone! I live in NC and was wondering if there are any NC sleevers out there? I'm finished all my pre-op appointments and I'm now waiting for my surgeons office to receive my clearance from the pysch eval that I passed. I am so ready for change. I've committed myself to changing my life style for the better. I quit drinking soda 3 months ago. I only drink Water and if I want something flavored I use crystal light or others like it. I even moved to clean eating. Because of those changes I lost 22 pounds. I am hoping to have my surgery before the year ends since I met my deductible and out of pocket max. If anyone would love to share where they are at the process, I would love to hear it.

I'm in Charlotte. I see Dr. Pirrello. I cannot wait to get my sleeve. Great job on the weight loss so far. How was your over all experience?

Overall it was really no big deal. I've had 2 c-sections so the pain wasn't comparable. The sleeve pain was nothing really. I stopped taking the narcotic pain relievers after 4 days. Just take it easy and slow for a couple weeks right after.

I had a c-section too before. So I should be good then . I plan on taking a few weeks off from work. Just so that I can get acclimated to my new sleeve.

My surgeons office just submitted all my paperwork yesterday to the insurance company. If you have Facebook there's a group that I am in called sleeved sisters. It's a real good group and very positive.

Were they all booked up? When I had my appointment I called in July and saw the nutritionist in August. I love Dr P. Very good doctor and his staff is great.

My surgery date was changed to 11/1. The surgery will be in Charlotte.

I have been calling each month for the nutritionist apt. I received a letter Sat stating I need to go ahead and schedule the last two apts so I can get on the schedule for surgery. Cigna changed to 4 nutrition apt and previously it was 3 and this month i would have completed everything. :-(

Awe man that sucks. I can understand wanting to get it done this year. I hope you can get in and get it scheduled for this year.

Tabbatha35. . . What type of insurance do you have? How many nutrition apt did you have to do? Did you get your date before you finished the nutrition apt?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
